The Reason Timothée Chalamet Seemingly Missed Kylie Jenner’s Birthday Makes Total Sense

Timothée Chalamet was noticeably absent from Kylie Jenner’s social media activity this weekend, but his schedule is packed this summer.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, Kylie Jenner turned 28 years old and celebrated her big day alongside her loved ones. And while her birthday dinner, which saw sister Kylie Jenner and bestie Hailey Bieber in attendance, looked beautiful, one person was noticeably absent from the festivities this past weekend.

“I have the best sister @kendalljenner,” the Kylie Cosmetics founder wrote on her Instagram story over a photo of her birthday dinner, hosted by her older sister. Other photos and videos included her birthday cake(s), along with peeks at her daughter Stormi and other kids in the Kardashian-Jenner family.

Apart from the friends and family she spent her special day with, Jenner also received birthday tributes on social media. But, just as he was MIA at her dinner on Sunday, boyfriend Timothée Chalamet did not share anything for Jenner’s birthday on social media. Now, as expected, this is sparking breakup rumors—but we wouldn’t worry too much.

For starters, the reason Chalamet seemingly wasn’t at Jenner’s birthday dinner is likely because he’s filming Dune: Part Three. Production began in July for the highly anticipated sci-fi film in Budapest, and considering the Academy Award nominee is the main character of the series, we’d expect he’s very busy right now.

The actor was spotted in early July alongside Kylie and Kendall Jenner in Saint-Tropez ahead of filming, with his appearance sparking speculation that he buzzed his head for the movie.

It hasn’t been confirmed how long production will go for Dune: Part Three, but it lasted about four months for Dune and five months for Dune: Part Two. This means Chalamet is going to be pretty booked for the rest of the year, not to mention promotion for his December movie release, Marty Supreme. It’s likely we’ll start to see Chalamet and Jenner out together again when award season picks back up in the fall, or if he gets a break from filming.

As for the social media silence for Jenner’s birthday, that’s not surprising in the slightest. Though the pair, who have been dating for two years, step out publicly together, they don’t often share photos of one another on their respective pages.

Of course, it’s always possible that Jenner and Chalamet have broken up, but we wouldn’t take this birthday weekend as proof. At the time of this writing, the mom of two still follows the actor on Instagram, so it’s more likely they’re just busy with their own lives at this time.
