Who said that wearing a T-shirt isn’t considered high fashion? Anne Hathaway showed exactly how this simple garment can be elevated to a Paris Fashion Week staple, so long as there are a couple more things added to it to give it that extra flair.

Hathaway continues to show why her sense of style is a fashion-forward one, as she explores things many would never think to do. Case in point, her recent Paris Fashion Week outfit, consisting of a Balenciaga black T-shirt with a floor-length train added on to the back of the piece. This gave the tee an immense amount of drama and turned it into a gothic daydream for those who love a good dark aesthetic ensemble. She paired her top with black wide-leg bottoms.

The American actress couldn’t possibly let the reimagined T-shirt do all the work, which is why she added beautiful accessories to take her outfit to the next level. The long, black leather gloves really brought more Parisian couture to the mix, as well as continued the monochromatic black theme that could be seen throughout her attire. Her black pointed high-heeled shoes were also a nice touch overall.

As for where she gets her style inspiration from, Hathaway attributes some of her muse to Generation Z. As she told Vogue back in August 2023, Hathaway enjoys the way the generation expresses themselves by the items they choose to put on from day to day. The “what you see is what you get” vibe to their aesthetic is remarkable and acts as a fascinating muse.

“I know this sounds like I’m super-pandering, but I’m really switched on by Gen Z,” she told the magazine. “It’s a fun generation when it comes to fashion. They really hit it just right where they have a great time with it, but they define themselves by themselves.”

When asked what was a primary reason for switching up her style for something bolder, she replied, “You asked me about what’s changed for me with my style. I think for a long time, I thought that I could only have one. I felt really lost because I didn’t know what that was until I realized I have so many styles. And that’s part of the reason why I love being an actor, and my style is fluid.”

She added, “And once I realized that, then I felt like something clicked. But that’s just me. It’s different. Some people are like, ‘Nope, black turtleneck every day.’”

And it doesn’t just stop at her clothes, as Hathaway toldVogue her style team loves to have fun when thinking about what the celebrity will wear next.

“I work with incredible people who can execute anything,” Hathaway expressed. “We’re really fun. I’m big on loyalty and longevity. Some people I’ve been working with for decades now. And I feel like we just have a really good thing going. We’ve worked really hard to be where we are, but we’re also amazed by where we are. So, we’re just really enjoying it. And I work with highly creative people who are really committed to their own sense of excellence. I get to bear the fruit of that.”

The fashion icon is delivering incredible looks for Paris Fashion Week. All eyes are on Hathaway to see what look she’ll execute next.
