Hailee Steinfeld’s Nail Artist Divulges How to Get the Star's Custom Nude Mani

Hailee Steinfeld’s Bustle cover story has taken the internet by storm. In the Nov. 4 article from the publication, the 28-year-old actress discussed everything from the booming success of her late-September horror film, Sinners—which she starred in as Mary— to her spring wedding to Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen.
Aligned with the in-depth feature were a handful of sultry and stylish images, captured by photographer Eric Johnson. Its front page beauty, sporting a sheer plum slip dress under a black fur coat, repped an ensemble that screamed fall, while also paying homage to the vampiress vibes of her recently-released role.
Her moody makeup, credited by the publication as the work of Kristine Studden, featured an espresso smokey eye and deep mauve pout. In contrast, her nails by Tom Bachik exhibited a light neutral hue.
Following the release of the Steinfeld’s cover spot, Bachik took to Instagram to reveal the combo that he used for the actress's “Clean & Chic Nude Mani,” he penned in the post's caption. Her continued that the custom color was created using a duo of polishes from Aprés.
First, Bachik’s base color was achieved using the brand’s polish, Fairy Wings ($14.99). Its pastel pink is more muted than a typical bubblegum shade, seen in this unrelated Instagam post from dovenailsbysharon below.
Then, once the polish dried, Bachik went back in with another color from the same label. Using the polish Forgotten Film ($14.99), Steinfeld’s pink-hued nails became more neutralized. The latter shade pulls brown, and falls between a taupe and beige color.
Plus, Steinfeld isn’t the only celebrity who has recently rocked a staple nude shade. In fact, the nail artist shared that he used the same “Forgotten Film” polish on Jennifer Lopez—which was spotted in an Instagram video that announced the award-winning singer-songwriter as the brand’s new global ambassador.
No matter how you’re looking to elevate your staple your manicure, Bachik has you covered. He also achieved Selena Gomez’s ethereal wedding day nails—which showcased a super versatile polish under a chrome coat. For the newlywed, the artist disclosed that he used the Aprés polish When It Hits ($14.99), which is a super pearly sheer nude, and added even more sparkle with his own Cosmic Chrome Powder ($12) in the shade “Angel” along with his “Super Clear” gel pen ($15.80).
