Halle Bailey’s Massive Green Fur Coat and Latex Boot Combo Is a Lesson on Dramatic Fashion

The actress and singer is trying to wear clothes that ‘embrace’ where she is in life.

Halle Bailey’s latest outfit is proof that there’s no such thing as being overdressed. The Little Mermaid star donned the most dramatic oversized floor-length fuzzy green coat, paired with over-the-knee latex block heel boots. In an Instagram pic, she sat with one knee over the other on a stool that seemed invisible due to the sea-colored jacket’s radius, and snapped a mirror selfie. The 23-year-old showed off her soft smolder to the camera and tilted her head to one side.

“these boots are made for walkinnn… 🎶,” she captioned the Oct. 4 duo of photos she shared with her 7.2 million followers and referenced Nancy Sinatra’s 1966 hit single.

“+ that’s just what they’ll do,” Ivy City Co. continued the catchy song lyrics in the comments section.

“And one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you😍,” one person completed.

“I look back at some of my pictures on the red carpet and laugh. But as I’m getting older and my body is changing, I’m learning who I am. I want to be sexy. I want to feel good. I want to wear clothes that embrace where I am in life,” Bailey told Cosmopolitan last month about her personal style evolution. “My confidence has gotten deeper and bigger with the help of my sister [Chlöe]. She’s always been an extroverted, sexy, demanding kind of presence. As I’ve watched her, I’m like, That’s so cool. I hope one day I can do that. She’s helping me find my footing in this whole adult-woman world. It’s definitely a collaboration. I’ve worked with some beautiful stylists that help me find that vision. I like to find shapes that make me feel good about myself. And because I’m smaller, because I’m petite, I still want to feel like a woman.”
