Margaret Qualley for ‘Cosmopolitan,’ Tyla for ’Variety’ and the Best Celeb Fashion This Week

Another week gone means it’s time for another article rounding up all of the best celeb looks of the last seven days (listen, we don’t make the rules, we just follow them)!
Fashion fanatics once again had countless options to choose from when it came to jaw-dropping style moments. And the best celeb looks this week range from red carpet realness to cover girl cool and everything in between.
So with that in mind, let’s take a look back at the very best celeb fashion moments from Aug. 1 through Aug. 8:
Margaret Qualley for Cosmopolitan
Qualley took our breath away with her feature in the popular magazine, where she sported several stunning ensembles for her fashion-forward photo spread. Still, it’s hard to beat a classic cover image—especially one that does such a great job of capturing the actress’s Old Hollywood vibe and effortless “Cool Girl” aura.
The tube top-style mini dress she wore for the cover shot gave the illusion of the piece being banded directly onto her figure thanks to its snug fit, while the cherry red shade complemented her dark brunette hair to perfection. Overall, it’s 1960s go-go glam merged with the playfulness of modern micro mini cuts.
Tyla for Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood party
Now here’s an artist who knows a thing or two about how to rock a two-piece set, and she proved that further with this dreamy pastel blue ensemble.
The high-neck, buttoned-up, sleeveless crop top was paired expertly with the low-rise micro mini skirt for an ab-flaunting, fun and flirty final look. Tyla’s hair was styled in a slick bob, and the feather-like headpiece adorning her tresses only served to further elevate the already stand-out style moment. Tyla was honored at the party with one of three covers for the magazine, with the other two being Finn Wolfhard and Sam Nivola.
Chappell Roan for “The Subway” music video
As someone (hi, it’s me, the human being writing this article) who has been growing their hair out for literal years at this point, Roan deciding to casually sport the cutest bob possible for her new music video felt like a personal attack—and it also had me searching for the scissors.
Roan’s highly anticipated music video for her popular tune “The Subway” was finally released last Friday, and it currently sits at 6.9 million views on YouTube at the time of this article’s publication. Any single style pulled from the video would be deserving of a spot on this list, but our favorite has to be the chic corpcore bob moment...because, well, bob.
Jenna Ortega for the New York premiere of Wednesday
Ortega’s fashion run for her Wednesday Season 2 press tour has been out of control in the best way possible, with each look the actress wore being better than her last.
Still, this week’s pick has to go to this fabulous rock n’ roll number, which Ortega donned for the New York premiere. Her messy shag haircut, smudged makeup and mixed-metal jewelry and unique gown all came together for the perfect merging of goth, punk and grunge aesthetics—with an added dash of sultry thanks to that daringly low back.
Anna Hathaway on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2
To say fans have been excited for this sequel would be the understatement of the century, and viewers can’t seem to get enough of the on-set photos and videos hitting the internet.
And one of the most exciting this week was the video of Hathway sporting a sparkling blue gown while out and about with her character Andy’s new love interest, Not-Nate (that’s not the character’s name. We don’t have a name yet, but to us he’s “Not-Nate” for now) played by Patrick Brammall. While the gown she was wearing was undeniably beautiful, the best accessory Hathway wore for the shoot was easily her smile.
Rihanna while out and about in Los Angeles
We have been thinking about this Rihanna snapshot since the moment we laid eyes on it earlier this week.
The multi-hyphenate musician was photographed while out on a stroll in Los Angeles wearing a pastel pink gown with yellow, blue and green details that looked as sweet as cotton candy. With her adorable baby bump on full display—as the star is expecting baby number three with A$AP Rocky—the superstar punched the unique piece up further with touches of her signature style, including neon green sneakers and some incredible statement earrings. Obsessed.
Brooke Shields for the Acorn TV Talent Dinner
Channeling serious Medieval vibes, Shields was an absolute dream in this lacy layered look.
The actress, model and all-around icon looked wonderful in the high-low cut Zimmermann dress, which included a breathtaking neckline made of sheer white lace, which then draped down into a dramatic sleeve before merging with the silky black bodice. The tie at the waist was the perfect final touch, allowing for a great “cinched in” moment and adding to the classic meets modern vibe of the piece.
Cardi B for WWE’s SummerSlam
The rapper clearly wasn’t playing around when it came to her fashion as she hosted this year’s two-night SummerSlam event.
Walking out to her own pro wrestler-style entrance, Cardi B rocked an all-black feathered bodysuit for the evening, complete with a jaw-dropping matching coat. The knee-high boots and blunt bangs added extra edge to the sultry set, while the large gold hoop earrings were a signature Cardi B moment. Also, given her entrance here and her ensemble at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, we can’t help but wonder if birds and/or feathers will be a big part of the artist’s new Am I the Drama? era.
And finally, an honorable mention for the most stylish gentleman of the week: Lin-Manuel Miranda for the 10th Anniversary of Hamilton
Miranda has been doing press to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hamilton, and his looks for each appearance have shown some of the very best of menswear.
Whether he was stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, posing beside his frighteningly accurate wax figure or hilariously participating in TikTok trends, Miranda did so with kindness, class and style. Also, there’s definitely a Hamilton-related fashion pun here we’re totally missing, but we can’t remember what it was...we guess you’ll have to...wait for it.
