Margaret Qualley Channels Vintage Americana in Corset Mini Dress for ‘Cosmopolitan’

Margaret Qualley’s beauty can transcend time. This is proven with the photos for the cover of Cosmopolitan’s 60th anniversary issue, as she channels old New York vintage.
As part of her cover shoot, Qualley stunned in captivating outfits, ranging from a black feathered top and cheeky black bottoms to a fun white matching two-piece ensemble. However, the true show-stopper of this Golden Globe-nominated actress’s feature has to be the gorgeous crimson velvet corset dress that is as daring as it is fabulous.
Qualley is striking from head to toe in this look, complete with a white sailor hat to give it even more of that Americana aesthetic. Her warm smile and bright eyes shining in front of the Statue of Liberty come together to deliver a stunning photo:
With Cosmopolitan, the 30-year-old actress discussed how she got into acting, growing up in the South and her perspective on self-growth. She also talked about what falling in love with her husband, Jack Antonoff, felt like. Specifically, how she knew they were in it for the long term.
“Falling in love with Jack was the biggest feeling I’ve ever felt,” Qualley divulged. “We met right as COVID was ending, at the first party I’d been to. We saw each other on a roof, and we just started talking and never stopped. We went on a series of walks throughout the city that summer.”
She describes her love with the Grammy Award-winning producer as an experience that makes her feel “safe,” “comfortable” and a little like having a crush on Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore. (Qualley had an appearance in the Netflix sequel of the film alongside several SI Swimsuit models.)
“In every other relationship I’ve ever been in, I still felt really lonely because I wasn’t with my person, and it’s like I was seeking something. I don’t feel like that anymore. Jack makes me feel safe and comfortable,” she expressed.
Continuing her reflection on falling in love with Antonoff, Qualley added, “I spent so many years trying to be someone’s perfect girl, and that girl changed over and over again. But I can’t lie to Jack. I can’t be that for him—he’d see through it. So I just have to be myself. He’s been the person I’ve pictured my whole life. And I’m not even saying that metaphorically.”
“My first crush was Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy, and I’ve been looking for that essence my whole life. I’m like, ‘That’s Jack,’” she explained.
The Maid actress likens love to security. But she also notes that love can be complex, hence why it’s often a driving factor fueling the roles she chooses.
“Like there’s always a ground below you,” Qualley replied when asked what love feels like. “You can’t fall very far because you’re going to be caught. But love is also hard. It’s why I feel inspired to make movies about love, whether it’s platonic or romantic or whatever. The kind of thing I would be proud to show my kids one day.”
