Olandria Carthen’s Gold-Encrusted Couture Look in Paris Is the Definition of Luxe

On Tuesday, March 3, a few of the biggest names in fashion gathered in Paris for the Grand Dîner du Louvre. As noted by Vogue, the annual event celebrated its sophomore soirée this week, with the outlet describing the star-studded evening as “a Paris Fashion Week-adjacent fundraiser that has, in just one year, firmly established itself as one of the most covetable invitations on the calendar.”

Among the fashion-forward attendees was Love Island USA Season 7 star turned rising style sensation, Olandria Carthen. There, the model wore a designer ensemble so stunning, we’re honestly surprised she wasn’t mistaken for one of the many beloved works of art lining the walls of the iconic French museum.

Carthen brings elegant edge to the Grand Dîner du Louvre

Carthen posed for several photos and videos at the entrance to the Louvre, modeling her black and gold designer look in front of the glowing pyramid fixture. Once again styled to perfection by The Reismans, Carthen’s couture gown by designers Khaled & Marwan featured multiple daring details, all coming together to create one unforgettable fashion moment.

According to a post shared by the designers on Instagram, the gown hails from their “Muse collection,” which was definitely an appropriate choice given the event’s location. The base of the piece showcased a semi-sheer fabric from Carthen’s high neckline down to the tight hem that hugged her ankles, complete with dramatic puffed sleeves and a flared, mermaid-adjacent train.

Still, the “drama” didn’t stop there, with a corset-style bodice layered atop the base, boasting sparkling gold accents and encrusted jewels for a luxe edge and added texture. The model then accessorized with even more gold on her hands, ears and neckline. Overall, the final look was truly show-stopping, combining a timeless silhouette and plenty of on-trend details.

Makeup that doubles as its own masterpiece

Needless to say, a designer ensemble as luxe as the reality TV star’s needs—nay, demands—an equally glamorous makeup look to match. No worries, of course, as Carthen’s longtime makeup artist, Ngozi Edeme, was clearly up for the challenge!

Taking to Instagram with a new seven-photo carousel, Edeme showcased Carthen’s spectacular glam for the Parisian event, comprising a collection of go-to staples from celeb-approved brand Charlotte Tilbury, including the mega-viral Hollywood Flawless Filter. With a matte base, striking eyebrows and an ombré nude lip, the makeup not only matched the mood of Carthen’s ensemble but elevated it.
