There might be a heat wave in New York City right now, but Olivia Wilde is still busting out her fall wardrobe consisting of earthy warm tones, chunky knits and most importantly: oversized trench coats.

The Don’t Worry Darling actress and director attended the Michael Kors show during New York Fashion Week in a chic and sophisticated monochrome brown look that matched the autumn aesthetic. She managed to channel the luxury fashion house’s brand while also keeping her (somewhat) cool during the rising city temperatures.

Wilde donned a brown cable-knit sweater and matching micro shorts with knee-high caramel suede boots. The star of the show was her brown-and-gray houndstooth floor-length coat featuring a boxy fit, shoulder pads, a long collar and two black buttons.

Wilde opted for a subtle bronzed glam look, including brown eyeshadow and liner, wispy eyelashes, feathered brows, rosy cheeks and a glossy nude lip. She accessorized with a brown fringe purse, simple gold hoop earrings and her blonde locks were loose and naturally wavy.

“In my late 30s, I now gravitate towards higher-end brands at vintage stores. I think this is spectacular—to be able to invest in a brand I believe in, whether it’s Alaïa or it’s Gucci, and to continue the lifecycle of a piece that has been worn, but is still incredibly intact,” the 39-year-old told Elle about how her style has changed over the years. “I don’t give a s--- about what brand I’m wearing—I do admire the work of certain designers, so I invest in their stuff because I believe in them and I love being able to give them a second, or sometimes third, life. But this is very different from my early 20s, when I was like, ‘I will work any ripped tee and any s----- band T-shirt because I like the feel of it.’ Not anymore.”
