Serena Williams Looks Gorgeously Classy in Sheer Cut-Out Black Dress

Serena Williams is many things—one of the world’s best athletes, a mom, an entrepreneur and a fashionista. The 23-time Grand Slam singles champ has been showing off a number of sporty and dressy outfits on Instagram lately, proving that she looks great in just about anything both on and off the court. 

The little black dress she showed off on Wednesday particularly caught our eye. In the trio of snapshots, the four-time Olympic gold medalist modeled her clothing brand’s Sol Maxi Dress with cut-out detailing at the waist and heart-printed sheer sleeves. 

Williams accessorized with pointed-toe black heels and a diamond necklace. She stood on a stone walkway and provided photos that showcased various angles of the dress with greenery and a bright blue sky behind her.

“Heart on my sleeve 🖤,” she captioned the post she shared with her 16.2 million followers.

“Gorgeous, as always 🖤,” the official S by Serena IG account commented. 

“And cinched in the waist! TUH!!! 😍,” gushed Bozoma Saint John.

“Explain how Serena was on her feet battling the tennis world for 30 years, and can still wear shoes like this!? My feet hurt after one match,” quipped one follower.

“Miss you Serena, please come out of retirement 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️,” another fan pleaded.

Williams played her final professional tennis match at the U.S. Open last September. The month prior, she announced that she would be stepping away from her sport in a cover story with Vogue.

“I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn’t feel like a modern word to me,” she said at the time. “I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people. Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution.”
