Sydney Sweeney turned heads at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, where she was honored with the Spotlight Award for her leading performance in Christy, her upcoming boxing biopic set to premiere Nov. 7. The actress—best-known for her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You—is currently on a full-fledged press tour for the role, and this red carpet appearance is continuing her fierce fashion-forward streak.
Classic with a twist
Styled by longtime collaborator Molly Dickson, the White Lotus alum channeled vintage Hollywood elegance in a one-shoulder white mini dress by Stella McCartney. The design featured sheer ruched fabric, a corseted bodice and a flared micro skirt reminiscent of a crinoline—all cinched perfectly at the waist to show off her sculpted figure. The modern silhouette felt both classy and subtly sultry, especially paired with crisp white pointed-toe pumps.
A beauty refresh
The look also marked a new hair era for Sweeney: her freshly chopped platinum bob, smoothed and flipped at the ends, added a bold and playful twist to the otherwise timeless ensemble. Hairstylist Glen Oropeza styled the chic cut to perfection, while makeup artist Melissa Hernandez leaned into her signature radiant glam. The Washington native’s complexion glowed with fresh, dewy finishes, and she wore soft blush tones and a glossy nude lip—no heavy statement makeup needed.
But the Laneige and Armani Beauty ambassador’s natural glow is the result of more than good product picks: she’s become a Gen Z beauty muse by embracing looks that feel effortless, confident and fully her.
An actor in control
Sweeney’s turn as real-life boxer Christy Martin is already generating Oscar buzz, and her emotional transformation for the role has given fans a new perspective on her range. The 28-year-old trained for months, putting on more than 30 pounds of muscle and pushing herself physically and emotionally to portray Martin’s complex inner world.
“For Christy, the ring was her escape,” Sweeney told Variety in a recent cover story. “It’s almost like you’re a caged animal inside this ring, but it’s a place where she feels the most free. I am definitely a caged animal in a sense. Acting is my ring. It’s where I feel freedom. The set is where everything else goes quiet.”
And from the red carpet to the boxing ring, she’s proving she can do it all with poise, power and just the right amount of sparkle.
