Shay Mitchell Brings New Life to Classic Denim for Latest Brand Collab

The BÉIS brand founder has cultivated a practical yet polished collection for travel lovers.

Shay Mitchell’s wildest dreams are coming true, as the actress and BÉIS brand founder has partnered with Gap—a brand she’s loved ever since she was a child—to cultivate a collection of travel-ready clothes, as well as a chic new look for her BÉIS suitcases.

“BÉIS is built on functional and accessible design. Partnering with Gap let us bring BÉIS-ics to more people than ever,” Mitchell shared with Women’s Wear Daily. “I’ve been wearing Gap since I was a kid, so designing a collection that allows you to express your personal style while on the go feels like a full-circle moment. This line is for anyone who wants to look good, feel good and travel in style.“

Comfy yet couture was what Mitchell had in mind when deciding on which clothing pieces she wanted to create for her collab with the iconic brand. As a result, she brought to life items like a chic Oversized Denim Jacket ($128) and matching High-Rise Barrel Jeans ($108). Both of these are perfect choices for those “running through the airport to catch a flight” moments.

And the practicality of these garments doesn’t stop at their designs. The feel is equally incredible, as they’re made out of 100% cotton. This ensures that the fabric remains soft and breathable, even when flying across continents. With this in mind, it’s evident Mitchell designed this collection with the average traveler in mind. She also made sure to note the reputation of the brilliant brand, seeking to further Gap’s renowned reputation.

“This has been on my vision board for many years. I have always been a huge fan of Gap and have always shopped there. Gap has always been known for their staple items. You can go in there, and you know you’re getting a quality piece that is kind of timeless,” she expressed.

The 38-year-old then added, “I think the combination of Gap with BÉIS, and the function that we add to all of our products was sort of a really happy marriage between [the two companies].”

As for how BÉIS was transformed for this collab, the luggage brand released new suitcases in a gorgeous denim blue shade that will certainly stand out at baggage claim. This pigment pairs exceptionally with the garments Mitchell curated for the collection—particularly that classic white T-shirt and wide-legged jeans combo she sported in the ad.
