With her expert style and post-wedding TikTok virality, Sofia Richie is officially the video-based platform’s fashionista. Her latest look proves that Richie, just like us, is very aware of the style trends, tips and hacks going around—even when she’s not the one creating them.

The internet personality, who got married to music executive Elliot Grainge earlier this year, showed off her take on the “sandwich method” trend circulating on TikTok.

What is the sandwich method?

The idea behind the sandwich method is creating a foolproof way to put together an outfit that works aesthetically using pieces already in your wardrobe. It involves wearing a shirt of one color, bottoms in another and shoes that match the color of your shirt. The type of top, bottom or shoe doesn’t matter—it works with a button-down, skirt and heels just as well as it does with a tank, jeans and sneakers—and that’s the beauty and simplicity of it.

Sofia Richie’s take on the sandwich method

The Los Angeles native, whose looks range from colorful, muted patterns to neutral quiet luxury fashion, often opts for dresses—and she’s found a way to spin the sandwich method to work with a sweet white sundress.

The model was spotted out and about in Los Angeles on Oct. 10, in the perfect breezy West Coast fall outfit. She paired the lightweight linen gown with a cropped caramel bomber jacket, with the sleeves ruched up, and matching pointed-toe sling back stilettos. Richie even added a small handbag in a similar warm-toned hue.

The 25-year-old kept her hair and makeup pretty simple. Her long blonde locks were loosely curled and smooth at the top while she sported a glass skin base and just a dash of mascara, blush and lip gloss.
