Sofia Richie is finally divulging the secret sauce for her “sleek lazy girl bun.” The 25-year-old fashion icon and media personality is often spotted in a chic, slicked back up-do without a single hair out of place, so if anyone should be leading this tutorial, it’s Richie.

She took to her TikTok account last week to demonstrate how she achieves her sleek bun, which starts with wet hair and requires just a few key products.

“I do it all the time because I’m very lazy with my hair,” she admitted of her signature look at the start of her video. “Over the years of doing it, I’ve gotten really good and I have a really easy technique.”

After spritzing her hair with detangling spray, Richie parted her hair into a strong center part. She then took a generous dollop of

Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask

($69) and combed it through her hair, root to tip, with her fingers.

This color-safe mask helps both condition and detangle, so you can skip the extra step of a spray detangler.

Next, Richie combed through her hair and sectioned off the front pieces of hair from behind each ear, which she secured in clips. She applied

Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion

($42) to her hair and brushed her locks into place, then secured a ponytail on the back of her head with an elastic.

Ideal for creating beachy waves, this lotion also has great staying power for holding hair in place.

Richie took the front sections of hair out of the clips and brushed them back against her head before applying more lotion around her temples to secure her hair. She repeated on the other side and tied both sections back into her first ponytail to create one single pony before twisting all of her hair up into a bun and securing with a larger elastic. Richie tamed any flyaways along her hairline with a final pump of the texture lotion and added a few pumps of hair oil for some shine.

“That’s it, that was a lot of steps, but I promise you, it’s really not that hard,” Richie noted before signing off.
