Alex Morgan Shares Powerful USWNT Snap Ahead of Mexico Match

The squad is looking to start its 2024 season 3-0 with a win this evening.

On Feb. 20, the United States Women’s National Team took to the pitch again for the first time in 2024. The team faced—and defeated—the Dominican Republic in the group stage of the CONCACAF W Gold Cup, a tournament comprised of professional teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

A few days later, the team faced—and, again, beat—Argentina. The squad will take on Mexico’s national team tonight, Feb. 26, at 10:15 p.m. ET in the USWNT’s third of three matches for the tournament.

With a spot in the quarterfinals on the line, the team has been bringing its A game—led, in part, by Alex Morgan. The 34-year-old is a longtime member of the squad and a veteran at the national level, one of the few longstanding players remaining on the team following the retirement of Megan Rapinoe and Ali Krieger  last year.

But Morgan hasn’t had her fill of national play—or NWSL play, for that matter—yet. As always, she has her game face on and is ready for game time against Mexico.

With that in mind, she shared a fierce photo of herself and her teammates Naomi Girma and Jaedyn Shaw marching onto the pitch during a recent match. Dressed in their vibrant deep blue uniforms, white zip-up jackets and red and blue socks, the trio looked totally impressive as they geared up for kick-off.

Tonight, the squad will look for a third consecutive win to jumpstart the 2024 season. Tune it at 10:15 p.m. ET to catch the match on Paramount+.
