‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 10 Week 5 Spoilers: Rose Ceremony and the Big Twist

If there’s anything we’ve learned from this season of Bachelor in Paradise, it’s to expect the unexpected. For the first time ever, contestants of all—legal—ages are together at one resort to find their soulmate. That means previous cast members from The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette are currently looking for their other half in Costa Rica this time around.
And that’s not the only twist this year. Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 is full of unexpected moments, including an upcoming change that’s going to seriously impact the rest of the episodes. In Week 5, with the sixth episode of the season, we’ll finally be getting the rose ceremony we missed last week and a big announcement from Jesse Palmer.

So let’s get into what goes down this evening. WARNING: Spoilers for Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 are below.
We were surprised last week when the fourth episode of the season ended without giving us the rose ceremony. Instead, new arrivals showed up to cause a stir. As we previously reported ahead of the July 28 episode, TV scooper Reality Steve shared the following eliminations that will happen during the next rose ceremony:
- Natascha
- April
- Nancy
Update: Now that the episode is over, we know that Leslie and Gary also went home. This was not included in the pre-episode spoilers.
Reality Steve also reports that there are no new arrivals at this point, meaning the remaining contestants will either find love with one another or go home solo. And, as teased in the previews for this season, the contestants will learn about the big prize money twist. Making history as a Bachelor in Paradise first, couples will now have the chance to win half a million dollars. As if the competition wasn’t already serious!
The trusted TV leaker wasn’t sure of the exact twist ahead of the season, noting in his spoiler breakdowns: “I just know that it wasn’t about couples getting engaged as much as in seasons past, and a couple could still be a couple and leave the show because of some sort of vote off.”
Honestly, I’d grown frustrated with the series in the past because couples had to get engaged to “win” the show, which was just not very logical. I’m not completely sold on this new change in format, but hey, at least ABC is trying something different to keep us entertained. At the very least, it’ll be another surprise for fans—and the cast—which is something the long-running show probably needs.
As seen in this week’s preview—and confirmed by Reality Steve—this big twist will cause a ton of drama, understandably. Now, the stakes are higher than ever before.
