After welcoming her second child in late April, SI Swimsuit model Emily DiDonato is opening up about the difficulties of dressing her “foreign body” postpartum. The 32-year-old recently documented the process of getting ready for a casual dinner with her TikTok followers and didn’t shy away from honesty.

“I had a baby 12 weeks ago, [and] no one freaking warns you about how hard it is to get dressed after you have a baby,” DiDonato stated. “I feel like there’s a lot of conversation around like, ‘Be so proud of what your body did, love your postpartum body and it’s amazing what your postpartum body did,’ and that is 100% true, but I think it’s also O.K. to be like, ‘I don’t recognize this body, I don’t know how to dress this body.’”

DiDonato took her fans along for the ride as she tried different options from her closet. She eventually opted for a black swimsuit top with an oversized pinstripe button-up by The Frankie Shop thrown over top. On her lower half, she donned a pair of black bike shorts and flat strappy sandals by ROAM. She then accessorized with some gold jewelry, black sunglasses and a yellow bucket bag by Sézane.

DiDonato and her husband, Kyle Peterson, are the proud parents of two. They welcomed their son, Oliver, in the spring and are also mom and dad to a daughter named Teddy.

“Yes!!!” one person applauded in the comments section. “A little over a week postpartum It’s like maternity clothes don’t fit, my regular pre baby clothes don’t fit. What do I wear ?”

“Somehow, dressing myself postpartum is harder than when I was pregnant. 😫,” someone else noted.

“You are so real for this,” another fan wrote. “I remember this so well. Thank you for sharing.”
