Georgina Burke’s Rookie SI Swimsuit Feature in Barbados Is the Epitome of Chic and Classy Swimwear

The two-time brand model is also the founder of Burke NYC.

Australian model Georgina Burke was an SI Swimsuit rookie last year and the results of her photo shoot with Ben Watts in Barbados were simply fabulous. The Burke NYC founder returned to the magazine earlier this year and was photographed in Puerto Rico by the same photographer.

The styling on set of last year’s feature was inspired by blending preppy dressing with the feeling of luxury vacations. Swimsuits included young, cool, flirty aesthetics with functionality and eye-catching elements. Think a mix of solid one-pieces, bow details, gingham, pastel color-blocking and the iconic Polo Ralph Lauren logo.

“Finding out I was gonna be in Sports Illustrated [was] a huge milestone in my career,” the 31-year-old stated. ”I walked on set and [editor in chief] MJ [Day] was so incredible because she said, ‘If there’s any swim you don’t feel like comfortable in, you don’t wear it.’ That doesn’t happen on a shoot. She’s so about the woman feeling empowered and beautiful and confident.”
