Who is Gronkowski?

His hometown in Amherst, New York, may know him as Rob Gronkowski, born May 14, 1989, and the second youngest of five boys—but his dedicated fans know him as “Gronk,” a renowned tight end in the prime years of his football career.

Background and career

His dedication to the sport kicked off at the University of Arizona, where his college stats were absolutely remarkable. Impressed by his feats, the New England Patriots drafted the star athlete in 2010, and thus began an incredible nine seasons between Gronkowski and the Patriots. In those nine seasons, he became a three-time Super Bowl champion.

His current records include the most combined receptions by a tight end in NFL history, as well as the only individual in the Patriots’ history to receive a whopping 79 touchdowns. To this day, he has yet to be dethroned.

Gronkowski first hung up his football helmet in March 2019. He returned to the sport a year later, playing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he earned his fourth Super Bowl win. He was with the Buccaneeers up until his second and final retirement in June 2022.

He now spends his days as a spokesperson for various brands and companies, raising money for Gronk Nation Youth Foundation, co-hosting the Dudes on Dudes podcast alongside Julian Edelman and a plethora of other ventures.

Are Kostek and Gronkowski married?

At the time of writing, Kostek and Gronkowski are not married. The two are in a long-term, committed relationship for now, but have discussed topics around marriage previously, such as her engagement ring choice.

“I’m not the one who gets down on one knee, I’m supposed to be surprised,” Kostek replied in 2021 regarding whether she sees a ring in her future. “I do have one, I’m, like, a very simple, simple girl. I’m hoping that he’s smart enough to ask my friends or my sisters.”

How Kostek and Gronkowski’s romance began

Little did Gronkowski know that, as he was receiving and blocking, the love of his life—a talented New England Patriots cheerleader—wasn’t too far behind.

Their story

Despite their proximity to each other on the field, they didn’t officially meet until 2013 during a charity event at Goodwill.

“Camille and I met during Thanksgiving week. Therefore, I am very thankful for the charity event we met at,” he told PEOPLE in October 2021. “We celebrate the anniversary annually every year throughout the whole Thanksgiving week, seeing our families and feasting on some delicious food. During football season, it's a little bit more difficult to celebrate the wonderful occasion, so Thanksgiving makes it the perfect go-to celebration every time.”

As for how the SI Swimsuit model recalls their fated union, she remembers the day as one when this gentleman pulled a pretty bold move. “He ripped off his ‘Hi, My Name is Rob Gronkowski’ sticker on his T-shirt,” Kostek recollected. “So he had written on the back of it his phone number and then he wrote, 'Shhhhh' because he knew it was a secret.“

A cheerleader dating the NFL star during her rookie year was a no-go. Even so, Gronkowski was persistent. “Jermaine Wiggins [Jr.] came over to me and he had asked me to sign a poster for a friend, and I was like ‘No problem’. He was like, ‘I’m just kidding. I don’t need a poster for anybody. I’m trying to slide you Rob Gronkowski’s number. He’s on the bus. I have to go home, but he knows the rules.’ And I was a rookie, and I was so scared.”

She went on, adding, “And then [Wiggins] was like ‘Just take it.’ And I was like ‘Okay!’”

After toiling over it for a while, Kostek finally decided to give the Patriots’ tight end a FaceTime phone call. From there, the romance continued to blossom, and in 2015, after Kostek retired from cheerleading, they made their romance public.

A brief break before returning stronger

Without a doubt, relationships have their highs and lows, and Kostek and Gronkowski are no strangers to that. Two years after making their relationship official, the two briefly called it quits. During their 2017 separation, Kostek did a lot of self-reflection.

“Some of the best things in my life came from this f*****g breakup that broke me, but also allowed me to find who I am,” Kostek revealed during Kristin Cavallari’s Let's Be Honest podcast tour earlier this year. “I was able to find myself a little bit and just get in the zone. I didn’t care about dating, I felt like I was, like, asexual. Like, no one excited me.“

Eventually, the two rekindled their love and have been together ever since, and are dog parents to their pup, Ralphie Gronkowski.

How Kostek responds to marriage status speculation

Unfortunately, Kostek has endured scrutiny from the media, football fans and fellow WAGs for staying in her relationship with Gronkowski for over a decade despite not having a ring. And the former cheerleader hasn’t hesitated to bring light to the badmouthing that goes on behind the scenes.

“I felt like I was seen as a lesser-than girlfriend because I didn’t have a ring on my finger,” Kostek shared with Kristin Cavallari in June 2025. “But you want to know what’s so interesting about that? The woman who’s coming to mind [who] judged me the most, she’s divorced.”

Marriage expectations in WAG Culture

Societal pressures that say that women should be married by a certain age and within a certain timeline are still prevalent to this day. Kostek joins many other WAGs—Georgina Rodríguez and Gisele Bündchen, for example—who are constantly having their relationships dissected to fit artificial norms.

While their relationship may seem unconventional to some, it works for Kostek and Gronkowski, which is all that matters.

As for Kostek, she juggles influencing, hosting, modeling and so much more, continuing to redefine what it means to be a WAG.

What the future holds for their relationship

Only time will tell where their relationship will go next. Until then, this pair continues to do their own thing, while often making it a priority to carve out time for one another.

“I think that's the beauty of it,” Kostek stated in September 2025 when detailing how she and her man keep the passion alive. “Rob’s been busy running around. He just met me here [in New York City]. He flew in today from L.A., and we spent the day doing some stuff honoring the families of 9/11.“

She went on, adding, “I go to my parents, he sets up the dinner date. I’ll come here, see my Sports Illustrated Champion family. Then, we’ll go out on a date so that we find that blend between work-relationship time.”

Engagement & marriage

As mentioned above, there is no pressure between the two to get married. Although they haven’t publicly talked at length about a future wedding, Gronkowski hinted that if they did wed, it would be a more “intimate” occasion.

“Not during the Super Bowl right now. There’s too much going on,” he said of the possibility of eloping in Las Vegas during last year’s Super Bowl. “That would have to be more of an intimate setting.”

Overall, no one knows what the future holds for these two, but they remain happy and committed to each other.
