We’re Melting Over Olivia Dunne’s Adorable Birthday Tribute to Paul Skenes

The 2025 SI Swimsuit cover girl takes to social media to share some love to the birthday boy.

A very important person in Olivia Dunne’s life is celebrating his 23rd birthday today, and you already know the content creation queen took to social media this afternoon to show him some love. Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes welcomes another year of life on May 29, and his girlfriend of nearly two years shared a set of adorable photos—some of them never-been-seen.

The three-time SI Swimsuit model, who concluded her fifth and final year with the LSU women’s gymnastics team earlier this year, kept her caption sweet and simple, writing: “Happy birthday little baby @paulskenes 🤍🎂.” The first photo of the seven-image carousel is easily our favorite, seeing the fan-favorite couple look into each other’s eyes while dining at a scenic restaurant. As the MLB star ate a French fry, Dunne giggled at her beau.

Other photos included in Dunne’s photo dump are fun selfies, cameos from the gymnast’s dog Roux, getting ready for the 2025 BBWAA Awards Dinner and other sweet moments.

As expected, fans and loved ones rushed to Dunne’s comments section to share their love for the couple and wish the athlete a happy birthday.

“my favorite people 🥹,” fellow LSU gymnast alum Haleigh Bryant commented.

“Let’s have a Paul party,” Dunne’s sister Julz wrote.

“America’s mom and dad,” another LSU gymnast, Ashley Cowan, added.

Dunne and Skenes met at LSU, and after months of romance rumors, Skenes confirmed they were dating in an August 2023 interview. Since then, the pair has shown up for one another at their respective athletic events as well as red carpets, dates and more.

In April, the couple appeared in a feature for GQ, which appropriately dubbed them “Gen Z’s ‘It Couple,’” dressing up for a posh photo shoot together. In their joint interview, they discussed the start of their relationship, which was a bit rocky for one funny reason: Skenes wouldn’t follow Dunne back on Instagram. “I was like, ‘Who is this kid and why won’t he follow me back?’” the gymnast recalled.

Little did Dunne know, unlike herself, Skenes is not a big fan of social media—so the no follow back was nothing personal.

Dunne made her debut in SI Swimsuit in 2023 when traveling to Puerto Rico to pose for Ben Watts’s lens. She returned to the fold a year later with a shoot in Portugal with Watts again, and in 2025, she landed on the cover of the magazine with a gorgeous shoot in Bermuda with Watts once more.
