Supermodel Kathy Ireland Returns to SI Swimsuit With Exclusive Photos

The entrepreneur is launching a new line of swimwear and cover-ups on March 30.

What’s the best way to celebrate a milestone birthday? If you’re supermodel and business mogul Kathy Ireland, you return to your old stomping grounds.

Ireland skyrocketed to stardom in the 1980s and ’90s as a fashion model and throughout her career with SI Swimsuit, she appeared in the magazine 13 times, including iconic covers in 1989, ’92 and ’94.

In order to ring in her recent 60th birthday, Ireland shared new exclusive swimwear photos with the brand that helped launch her career.  

The founder and CEO of global lifestyle brand kathy ireland Worldwide is launching a new collection of swimwear and cover-ups created exclusively for HSN on March 30.

“Every birthday gets better and being invited by SI Swimsuit to honor our new cover-up and swim collection is a warm way to celebrate turning 60!” Ireland stated in a press release. “I never imagined that these exclusive, extraordinary, bold prints, glorious colors and incredible fit would wind up with me revisiting our shared history with SI Swimsuit.”

Ireland stated that her time and travels with SI Swimsuit largely influenced the bright and colorful patterns of the line’s swimsuits and cover-ups.

“Traveling with SI under [founding editor Jule Campbell’s] mentorship, that was and it continues to be a great inspiration and education,” she shared. “I love experiencing different cultures and how people live, and Jule always encouraged to go bolder and brighter and just to bring fun. That’s something that definitely is felt in this collection.”

Her hope is that women feel comfortable and confident in her swimsuits, which have adjustable straps and removable padding for a fully customizable fit. Ireland promises the luxurious and affordable collection is suitable for every single body and credits SI Swimsuit for supporting the work she’s doing today.

“We’re very grateful to SI legend and my mentor, Jule Campbell, SI Swimsuit current leader, MJ Day, and parent company ABG for always honoring our brand,” she said in the release.
