Those Madison Beer and Justin Herbert Romance Rumors Explained

The singer-songwriter may have found love again with the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback.

Something’s in the air for Madison Beer and Justin Herbert. Could it be friendship? Love? A new music video? Whatever it is, one thing’s for sure: these two are certainly not strangers.

As reported by Daily Mail UK, Beer and Herbert were recently spotted together in Los Angeles on the set of the singer-songwriter’s new music video. For the video, the artist wore a dreamy, all-white outfit, which looked heavenly. As for Herbert, he wore more casual clothing, sporting a cap, pullover and black bottoms. It’s unclear if he’ll be in the music video, but he appeared to be supporting Beer nonetheless.

The artist and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback went on to spend a solid part of the afternoon together before they reportedly left together in Herbert’s car.

From former Vine stars to huge YouTube names, Beer has had an interesting dating history.

Her first public relationship began in 2015 with Gilinsky. They dated for two years before ultimately breaking up. Per PEOPLE, the aftermath of the split took a toll on Beer, as Gilinsky was allegedly verbally abusive to her after their relationship ended. Gilinsky has since apologized for his actions. As for Beer, she used her platform to be vulnerable about why she stayed in the relationship and how she’s grown.

“Many of you [have been] asking me, ‘Why would you stay with him if it happened last year?’” She noted back in 2017, “My theory was, and as horrible as this is, is that if I left him, he’d do it to the next girl. I tried to fix him.”

She also added, “We have both grown and changed so much at this point and it has been an extremely difficult thing to relive / even go thru what you have all heard in the first place, and I hope ALL of my fans learn from my foolishness.”

Brooklyn Beckham

Her next romance began later that year with David and Victoria Beckham’s son, Brooklyn. However, this relationship stayed casual, as Beckham was moving to New York at the time.

“I’ve known Brooklyn for years. We’ve been really close,” she told BUILD Series in 2017. “I’m like newly out of a long relationship. We definitely are crushing on each other, but we’re both really busy. [...] He’s great though. He’s a cutie. Literally one of my best friends, which is hard because now every time I’m seen with him people are like ‘Oh my god. They’re boyfriend and girlfriend.’ But we’re seriously best friends.”

Zack Bia

After that, the 26-year-old then dated DJ Zack Bia—the same person who has been romantically linked to stars like Madelyn Cline and Olivia Rodrigo. They began dating in 2018, but were on-again, off-again during a stretch of their relationship. Beer and Bia decided to make a clean break the following year.

David Dobrik

Fans would likely say Beer’s next relationship was with YouTuber David Dobrik, as they were often spotted together both on and offline. However, the two never took their friendship to the next level—though at some point, they both wanted to. In a February 2021 episode of VIEWS, Beer even joked about the time Dobrik rejected her.

“What do you say to ‘There’s no way Madison’s just not your type?’ [...] I texted [Dobrik] and I was like, ‘Oh, so I’m not your type? Nice.’”

Beer then asked Dobrik if he ever rejected her, to which the YouTuber said “no” before adding, “You’re just painting the whole rejection thing even more. I’ve always been, like, down. [...] I never rejected you. We just never dated. That’s the only story.”

On the same episode, Beer also confirmed to Dobrik that she was single at that time, putting to bed any relationship rumors. She added, “If something comes that I feel like is right, then I’m never opposed to it. But at the same time, I am not particularly looking for anything. I don’t think looking for things is healthy. I think that is how you get yourself in a bad situation because you have false feelings for people when you’re, like, avidly looking for a boyfriend.”

Nick Austin

Beer’s last confirmed public relationship was with TikTok star Nick Austin. This was her longest known and confirmed relationship, spanning from 2020 to 2024. During their four-year relationship, Beer opened up about how she felt “safe” with Austin.

“I’m super happy within my relationship, and I feel really safe, and I feel like I’m with someone I consider my best friend, which is very important,” she told InStyle. “In the past, I haven’t really spent ‘friend time’ with my boyfriend, whereas now, I kind of do. So it feels good.”

The two often posted about each other on their social media accounts during their relationship, but things unfortunately didn’t work out.

Could Beer be on to the next relationship with Herbert? Only time will tell. Until then, this hopeless romantic will continue wearing her heart on her sleeve until she finds the one who makes her feel safe.

“I love people. I meet someone, I love them,” Beer shared with Cosmpolitan. “I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m never letting you go. You’ll be with me forever until you hurt me.’ That’s the deal. I think also because I have such a weird life and never feel safe and comfortable with someone, when I cross that line of ‘you’re my boyfriend,’ it feels really big.”
