Sabrina Carpenter’s Alternate Album Cover Could’ve Been Plucked Out of Any Classic Hollywood Movie

Sabrina Carpenter loves a good vintage moment. The Grammy-winning pop star keeps the beloved Old Hollywood glamour aesthetic alive and well with not just her countless fabulous outfits but also with her creative concepts, which often pay homage to the early days of TV and movies.
And, after receiving some backlash around the original album cover for her upcoming project Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter decided to give fans an alternate option. This new cover includes black and white photos of the artist standing in a sea of men in suits, but she stands out with her signature beauty, acting as the apple of everyone’s eye in a gorgeous, glittering floor-length gown.
But in true Carpenter fashion, she delivered this alternate album cover with the perfect amount of sass in the caption.
“Here is a new alternate cover approved by God,” she joked.
It’s the perfect acknowledgement of the backlash that simultaneously tells her haters how she truly feels and her fans to anticipate some sassy newness on the way. And going off of the aesthetic for both cover options, it’s safe to assume the 26-year-old isn’t done with her retro era just yet.
Her lead single off the highly anticipated album being “Manchild” may also hint at the theme of the work, which Carenter noted depicts the highs and lows that come with being young and in love. And per Carpenter’s previous songs, she definitely knows a thing or two about falling in love with someone who may seem like a good fit at the start, only to not be who they seemed in the end.
“I wrote ‘Manchild’ on a random Tuesday,” Carpenter explained on her Instagram following the 2025 release. “Not only was it so fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.”
She went on, adding, “It sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll, and it feels like a never-ending road trip in the summer.”
Based on these two incredible album covers and what we’ve heard from the album so far, it’s fair to say Man’s Best Friend will be a nod to the ‘60s and ‘70s while also being a celebration of today—an amazing blend that Carpenter is sure to pull off exceptionally well.
Man’s Best Friend officially releases in August, and you can preorder the album now.
