Where and When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Got Engaged Revealed

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged (but honestly, we have to assume you already knew that)!
The happy couple shared the special moment via a joint Instagram post featuring five lovely photos of the pair together in a gorgeous garden, positively basking in the glow of their love—and let’s be honest, also the glow bouncing off that massive rock on Swift’s finger.
As more information about the engagement continues to trickle in, we now know the time and place that the Kansas City Chiefs football star got down on one knee before the pop sensation—and it’s all thanks to Travis’s dad, Ed Kelce.
According to Us Weekly, the Kelce family patriarch disclosed the details while chatting with News 5 Cleveland on Tuesday after the internet-breaking photos hit Instagram.
First things first, he confirmed how his son tricked Swift to the stunning location—how the “Mastermind” was out-mastermind-ed, if you will—and the story was very on-brand (and as lovers of pre-dinner cocktails ourselves, also very relatable).
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ [...] they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Kelce told the outlet. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So to see them together is great.”
But that wasn’t all. After a lot of speculation around when exactly the proposal took place, Kelce also confirmed that the big question was popped nearly TWO WEEKS AGO, saying, “Travis actually did the proposal maybe two weeks—not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off until this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off until this week to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”
So that’s everything, right? Wrong! Mr. Kelce also revealed the location, and—despite the breathtaking background—they were not, in fact, in the literal Garden of Eden. Instead, the location was noted to be “a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.”
The engagement comes just two weeks after Swift appeared on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast to announce her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl, where many fans also got a closer look at the couple’s laidback, loving dynamic. The podcast episode broke several records—and even broke YouTube for a few minutes, causing the episode to initially crash.
As you can imagine, this event has dominated the news cycle for the last 24 hours, with many joking that this is perhaps the closest Americans will experience to a “royal wedding”—and you better believe we’ll be covering everything as more information comes out!
