Well, Hollywood fashion has certainly entered a daring era.

This just in: sheer is steadily taking the lead as the top 2026 red carpet trend.

Recently, Hollywood’s biggest names have been having their go around with the luxe look. For example, supermodel and brand mogul Bella Hadid recently partook in the trend, sporting a lovely scarlet red piece while attending FX’s The Beauty premiere in New York City. The sheer cut-outs on her waist scream daring, while the ones on her legs embody allure. Together, these details go to show that it doesn’t take much to transform fabric into fad.

Another notable participant of the trend this week? Fellow fashionista Adria Arjona.

The actress looked fantastic in her all-black piece, rocking this classic monochromatic look effortlessly. Arjona’s red carpet attire took it to the next level by implementing a dazzling amount of transparent fabric on the upper half, and the one-shoulder cut was a nice touch, as well.

Her wearing this style attendance at the New York premiere of The Wrecking Crew—starring her man, Jason Mamoa—begs an important question: are sheer, mesh-style fabrics truly the next fashion wave, or is the Big Apple just the best place to sport this look?

Jennifer Lawrence will act as our style indicator here to show that the East Coast isn’t the only location where the sheer look is thriving. When the Die My Love actress hit the Golden Globes red carpet over the weekend in her attention-grabbing, see-through look, Beverly Hills was left in awe by her serve. She resembled a garden goddess fae, with embroidered floral patterns making up half of her garment, and the latest fabric trend making up the other.

2026 promises more sheer looks

There’s no denying that the main goal of any fashionista out there is to look so darn good that the streets can’t get enough. Doing so can be easier said than done, which is why stylists have to think of refreshing ways to do so while staying on trend.

Sheer fabrics offer a surefire way to keep the cameras flashing and social media buzzing. These see-through styles make a statement all by themselves—so much so that any form they appear in is guaranteed to have the red carpet’s focus.

With awards season well underway, similar looks are bound to take center stage. All that’s left to wonder is which celeb will don the trend next and, of course, how they’ll put their own spin on the style.
