These Jenna Ortega ‘Wednesday’ Press Tour Looks Are Pure Goth Greatness

The actress has been killing it while promoting the second season of the Netflix show—pun very much intended.

Jenna Ortega’s run of looks for her Wednesday Season 2 press tour has been the stuff that dreams (and nightmares) are made of.

The highly anticipated Netflix show returned to the streaming service this week on Wednesday—which is, of course, extremely appropriate—and fans were eager to see what their favorite Addams family members would be up to. Meanwhile, fashion lovers everywhere have been excited for a different reason thanks to the actress’s incredible wardrobe in the lead-up to the show’s release.

So with that in mind, let’s take a look back at some of Ortega’s very best ensembles for the Wednesday Season 2 press tour (and of course, a big shout out to her stylist Enrique Melendez, as well!):

Starting the list off strong with this marvelous play on the popular corpcore fashion movement, but with an on-brand Tim Burton-esque twist.

This dark gray three-piece suit from Ann Demeulemeester was expertly tailored to the actress’s form, and the subtle pinstripe details added an extra layer of elegance. The sheer black button-up underneath took the outfit from modern to classic courtesy of those 1970s-style sleeves. With a bouquet of bright red roses in her hands, this ensemble definitely channeled more Gomez vibes than Morticia vibes—but hey, we’re not mad about it.

Never one to bore her fans with a bevy of simple black looks, Ortega quickly proved that alternative style can also incorporate unexpected elements and shades, like this unique pale green and brown number by Elena Velez she wore while in Paris.

The daring plunge front of the midi-length dress was only further enhanced but the outline of hair-like fabric hanging from around the deep V to create a fun fringe. She punched up this already jaw-dropping ensemble with a fun 2000s-style pair of translucent green heels. (Also, is it just us, or are these photos the most she’s ever looked like fellow Wednesday actress Christina Ricci?)

Oh, what was that? You were hoping there’d be a little more grunge realness on this list? Well, buckle up, because we have some great news for you!

Ortega’s look for the New York premiere was pure rock n’ roll. From her messy shag hairstyle to her heavy, smudged under-eye to her mismatched jewelry, this get-up was a dreamy-nightmare fusion of 1980s glam and 1990s grunge. And we haven’t even mentioned the gown yet! The Ann Demeulemeester gown was just as daring as the makeup thanks to the sultry open back and mixed-fabric detailing, merging soft silk and rough leather. A true 10/10 outfit—no notes.

Given the popularity of corsets in women’s fashion throughout—you know—literal centuries, it’s always incredible to see how different designers manage to make the classic piece feel fresh again.

And that is exactly what this tube top-style dress by Elena Velez did when Ortega donned the piece for her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. From the angled top section to the high slit running up the skirt, this outfit was high fashion to the core. Honestly, if you told us she’d stepped right off of a runway moments before these snapshots were taken, we’d have no choice but to believe you.

We have been obsessed with this MARKGONG ensemble ever since we first saw Ortega sport it for Netflix’s TUDUM live event.

The trench coat cut, the cinched waist, the belt detailing—forgive our The Addams Family-level pun, but the entire thing was to die for. The fading fabric of the garment was especially breathtaking, as it committed to neither gray nor tan, instead creating an eye-popping optical illusion. And her hair! The 1950s, Clark Kent-style curl left down in the front? Inspired, excellent, we love it. Superman who?

In a look we playfully dubbed the “killer vampire queen” ensemble last week, there’s no denying this gown from Vivienne Westwood by Andreas Kronthaler is everything traditional goth aesthetics are all about.

The Victorian-inspired silhouette took center stage thanks to the intense frills lining the V-shaped neckline, while the pale corset and thin belt added more texture and depth. The deep, dusty purple shade was also a show-stopper, as it was a surprisingly suited pop of color, and the massive black cross charm necklace was the cherry on top. If she is indeed a “killer vampire queen,” we should very much like to be invited into her stylish coven, please and thank you.

All right, we have to come clean here—while we may have presented this list as if it were in no particular order, we have to admit, this gown by Ashi Studio was our favorite.

But genuinely, how could it not be? Channeling all of the glorious Victorian era vibes from the above ensemble with paler shades and striking textures, her red carpet look at the London premiere was easily one of the best fashion moments of the year—yes, year—not just Ortega’s press tour. Plus, her bleached eyebrows and dark low ponytail added a level of drama that immediately stunned fashion fans worldwide the moment she arrived.

In fact, it was a look so good, it made some social media users forget how makeup works for a minute.
