If there’s one thing Sabrina Carpenter knows how to do, it’s serve up some seriously sultry looks—and her latest music video for “Manchild” might just be her magnum opus when it comes to pure aesthetics alone.

Having had the undisputed song of the summer back in 2024 with her smash hit “Espresso,” the singer returned to our airwaves this week with a brand new song, and—perhaps more importantly—a brand new music video. The video itself feels like something out of a dream (or a nightmare, depending on your threshold for weirdness), featuring chaotic clips of the superstar doing everything from riding atop a moving car to running around with a puppy to shooting some pool—no, I mean literally shooting some pool. Like, she tries to shoot a pool ball with a gun, and it’s honestly an inspired visual pun I fear we’re overlooking.

But the striking visual imagery was only half of it, as Carpenter also used the video to show off some incredible looks. And, as a special treat for her Instagram followers, she shared a whole new crop of behind the scenes images on Saturday morning featuring even more styles we’ll 100% be adding to our summer wardrobe wishlist.

Captioning the photo drop, “manchild bts take a shot every time i wear a new outfit,” the singer looked immaculate in a wide range of western-inspired looks (though I do worry she might accidentally land some folks in the hospital with that drinking game suggestion).

The cover photo showcased Carpenter channeling some serious Lana Del Rey circa “Ride” vibes as she rode on the back of a motorcycle, clinging tightly to a tattooed stranger. Wearing a flowy white mini dress, her signature blonde tresses were dampened to add a sensual mood to the snapshot. Her make-up was also excellent, with glowy skin and a glossy pink pout front and center.

Other personal favorite snapshots from the 16-photo set included Carpenter donning a blue mini dress and fur coat for a ‘70s Quentin Tarantino-esque aesthetic, as well as a sparkling red dress that was expertly-tailored to her five-foot frame while absolutely screaming, “Oh, you wanted Dolly Parton?! Here you go!”

Earlier this week, Carpenter opened up about the meaning behind the song, which she co-wrote with Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff. While many fans openly assumed the tune would be aimed at ex-boyfriend and “Please Please Please” music video co-star Barry Keoghan before its official release, Carpenter noted the song was less about one specific person or thing, and more about a specific feeling and season.

“It sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll, and it feels like a never-ending road trip in the summer,” The singer wrote in a post on Instagram explaining her inspiration. “Hence why I wanted to give it to you now—so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!”
