Following the success of her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet in 2024, featuring her breakout track “Espresso,” which undeniably ruled last summer, all eyes are on Sabrina Carpenter to see what she’s going to release next.

Remaining a busy woman on her Short n’ Sweet World Tour, which picks back up in July, the 26-year-old has barely had a break since her game-changing Coachella performance last spring. And it looks like she’s gearing up to share something new, as she took to social media this afternoon to share some sort of teaser.

On Monday, Carpenter dropped a short, mostly audio-less clip on Instagram and X, which saw her attempting to hitchhike on the side of the road in micro denim shorts, a white crop top and heels. At the end of the video, the singer’s voice can be heard laughing before stating, “Oh boy.”

At this time, Carpenter has yet to confirm what this teaser is for, but fans are convinced they’ll be getting another summer anthem. And already, the post’s section is blowing up with reactions.

“IM CRASHING OUT,” actor Owen Thiele commented.

“ugh i got so worried that we aint getting a summer anthem but here she comes 😽😽😽,” content creator Leon Kilian wrote.

“What does this meannn,” a fan questioned.

“GURL NOW YOU SHOULD EXPLAIN,” another demanded.

“SABRINA HEARD THAT WE DIDN’T HAVE A SONG OF THE SUMMER AND IS DELIVERING!!!” another comment reads.

Meanwhile, others are speculating that Carpenter might be dropping a music video for her track “Busy Woman.”

Since wrapping the European leg of her Short n’ Sweet Tour in April, Carpenter has hardly shied away from the spotlight, appearing on Quinta Brunson’s episode of Saturday Night Live and attending the Met Gala wearing a stunning blazer one-piece from Louis Vuitton with a dramatic train.

More recently, chatter began circulating on social media that Carpenter could score a role in a potential third Mamma Mia! movie after producer Judy Craymer mused to Deadline: “She’d be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep.” At this time, another sequel has not officially been announced, though it’s been reported to be in early development.

Amid all of the exciting events, performances and rumors, Miley Cyrus recently shared her thoughts on Carpenter’s career, telling the New York Times as part of a new feature, “Every time I see her I have the urge to ask her if she’s OK.” As a fellow former Disney child star, the singer noted, “I know what it feels like to fry yourself.”
