Sydney Sweeney closed out the Toronto International Film Festival with one of her most captivating style moments yet, and we’re still taking notes. The Euphoria star and White Lotus alum, who attended TIFF to promote Christy, an upcoming biopic about trailblazing boxer Christy Martin, turned heads at the Variety Studio in a custom Monse creation that fused officewear cool with signature Sweeney edge.

Styling

The gray one-piece ensemble reimagined corpcore staples with a sultry, Sweeney-style twist. The tailored number featured long sleeves, sharp shoulder pads and a daring plunging neckline up top, while the bottom half echoed traditional menswear through low-rise trousers with crisp pockets. Connecting the two was a mesh corseted panel—complete with matching gray boning—that offered an unexpected dose of structure and just the right amount of skin.

The 27-year-old accessorized the look with burgundy Paris Texas Lidia slingback pumps and the Mega Half N Half Ring, adding just the right amount of sparkle to the clean palette. Her long blonde locks were styled into smooth, soft waves by hairstylist Glen Oropeza while makeup artist Melissa Hernandez created a luminous base with rosy cheeks, a glossy pink lip and wispy lashes for a polished, radiant finish.

“What a weekend 🥹🥰,” the new Jimmy Choo ambassador captioned an Instagram carousel of her TIFF looks. In another post from the Christy premiere on Sept. 5 she wrote, “When TIFF met CHRISTY 🥊 Thank you for the outpouring of love and support for this special film and incredible woman.”

Christy

In the movie, set to release in November and directed by David Michôd, Sweeney fully transforms into the famed athlete and world champion boxer. The role demanded immense physical and emotional preparation, and the actress was certainly up for the challenge.

“I trained for two, three months before [shooting],” the Washington native said. “I had a boxing coach, I had weight trainers, I had nutritionists. I trained three times a day, every day, and then while I was filming, I trained as well. It was incredible being able to completely embody such a powerful woman. I felt even stronger. It was truly inspiring.”

Sweeney’s performance in Christy marks another powerful entry in her ever-growing résumé, which now includes producing credits under her company Fifty-Fifty Films (Anyone But You, Immaculate) and starring roles in new thrillers like The Housemaid and Echo Valley.

One thing’s for sure: whether she’s in the ring or on the red carpet, Sweeney knows exactly how to land a knockout.
