Maddy Westbeld Defies Fall’s Famous Fashion Rule With Crisp Tunnel Look

Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Who cares!
Maddy Westbeld isn’t just breaking that rule; she’s rewriting it. The Chicago Sky forward showed up to the Sept. 3 game in a look that screamed modern elegance, cozy confidence and quiet luxury all at once.
Styling
She wore a perfectly fitted white cardigan—hip-length, not cropped but not longline either—with the bottom few buttons undone to reveal a flash of her toned abs. She paired it with high-waisted, wide-leg white trousers with crisp cuffed hems and finished the ensemble with pointed-toe suede brown heels. Her long dark curls were left loose and lightly tousled and she opted for her signature glowy, natural glam to round out the effortlessly chic moment.
The crisp monochrome palette felt breezy and transitional, proving white-on-white works long past summer. Classic, clean and refreshingly simple, the outfit embodied what Westbeld does best: balance.
Her team certainly brought the same energy to the court. The Sky dominated the Connecticut Sun in an 88–64 win, giving fans even more to celebrate as the 2025 regular season comes to a close. Neither team will be making it to the playoffs this year.
A passion for fashion
And Westbeld has been on a serious style streak lately. From jorts and bandana tops to oversized cardigans and pinstripe button-downs, the rookie forward has been playing with silhouettes, textures and statement accessories while staying true to her signature aesthetic: minimal, refined and just a little edgy.
“I try to not do too much [while] still getting a good message across,” the Ohio native previously told SI Swimsuit, adding, “Right now, my personal style is definitely classy and chic with a little high fashion sprinkled in. I don’t have a dress code anymore, so I can be a little more edgy with my style while still keeping it classy.”
The 23-year-old Notre Dame alum is carving out space for herself in the league. Her looks often channel elements of corpcore and model-off-duty aesthetics, always with a personal twist. She collaborates closely with stylist and brand consultant Desiree Olavarrieta to bring those visions to life.
Together, the two have turned the tunnel into a playground for expression and storytelling. And as one of the newest faces in a league that’s becoming a global cultural force, Westbeld is already proving she’s got range; on the hardwood and in her wardrobe.
