All the Latest Clues That Signal to Olivia Rodrigo’s Third Album Release

Well, August 2025 has certainly proved to be an exciting month for pop music lovers!
First off, Sabrina Carpenter’s latest album, Man’s Best Friend, is set to be released on Aug. 29. Then, Taylor Swift sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday morning by announcing that her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, would also be released soon; however, we won’t know more about that until she makes her guest appearance on the New Heights podcast later this evening.
But Olivia Rodrigo has also been hinting pretty heavily at new things on the horizon, signaling to fans that her highly anticipated third album may be on the way—and she’s dropped plenty of clues about it already, so let’s break some of them down!
Everything started when Rodrigo headlined the Osheaga festival in Montreal, Canada, back on Aug. 3. During her performance, she wore a bright red crop top with a bedazzled “3” on the front, and—after she ended her high-energy set—she took off her signature “G.U.T.S.” rings as she walked off the stage and down some stairs to the front row, where she handed them out to the audience. The superstar later posted a video of the moment on both Instagram and TikTok, captioning the clip, “rings off!!!!! that’s a wrap on guts tour!!! until next time I love y’all💋🎸🎂.”
And the rumors only further kicked into high gear after subscribers to the artist’s newsletter received an email on Aug. 11, once again confirming that the GUTS World Tour had officially come to an end, per Cosmopolitan. One potential Easter Egg that stood out to eagle-eyed sleuths right away was her decision to misspell one particular word in the following: “I’m sooooo excited for all that’s y3t to come!!!!” As you can see, the number “3” makes a cameo “y3t” again!
Still, the most interesting clue came yesterday, Aug. 12, when fans realized Rodrigo’s official website had changed its color scheme. As longtime listeners of the superstar are well aware, both of Rodrigo’s last two albums—her hit debut SOUR and her aforementioned sophomore smash GUTS—had dark purple and lavender color motifs, respectively.

However, her official website—while still predominantly designed with purple shades—now has a notable pop of red throughout, and her initial “O.R.” logo has been revised to match, as depicted by Pop Base on X (formerly known as Twitter). And this shift in her signature color palette also just so happens to match something Rodrigo shared with Vogue back in May.
In the outlet’s “Inside Olivia Rodrigo’s Vintage Fendi Bag” video on YouTube, Rodrigo ended the interview by holding up a bright red hat and stating in no uncertain terms: “Yeah, I love red. It’s my new fave color.”
While all of these instances are, of course, wild fan speculation, it still feels pretty safe to say fans can expect something new (and likely red hot!) from the artist sooner rather than later.
