Sabrina Carpenter Leans Into Retro Vibes With Frilly Bloomers

Sabrina Carpenter is officially in her frilly bloomers era—and we’re so here for it.
The pop sensation, whose seventh studio album Man’s Best Friend drops Aug. 29, just dropped a new IG post that’s equal parts whimsical, sultry and straight out of a vintage Vogue editorial.
The 26-year-old posed in a dimly lit black room behind a white clothesline, with delicate lingerie and micro separates clipped across it like set dressing. Think soft pink satin bralettes, sheer tights, ruffled yellow shorts and cherry red panties—all suspended in a scene that blended domestic daydreams with coquettecore cool.
The 26-year-old looked off to the side, wearing nothing but a pale blue cropped poncho and high-rise baby blue ruffled bloomers. Her signature platinum waves were voluminous and brushed out into retro perfection. Her makeup followed suit: a taupe-berry pout, ultra-rosy flushed cheeks and feathery dark lashes that made her ice-blue eyes practically sparkle.
“Go put on some clothes!” the former Disney Channel actress captioned the post in cheeky Carpenter fashion. The outfit, a refreshing minimalist pivot from her dazzling stage looks, proved once again that she is always in control of the narrative (and her wardrobe).
“But daddy I have nothing to wear ! !,” Gigi Hadid exclaimed in the comments.
“new era incoming ‼️,” YouTube chimed.
“Okay fine I will,” Isabella Cichy added.
“the woman that you are,” one fan account gushed. “i’m so excited for this new era. already obsessed with this album.”
Whether she’s rocking custom bedazzled bodysuits by Loewe and Victoria’s Secret, micro chainmail dresses from Versace, or a vintage Todd Oldham fringe set at Lollapalooza, the pop star keeps fans guessing and fashion editors on their toes.
This isn’t the first time Carpenter has played with cottagecore aesthetics. Her recent carousel featuring puff sleeves and soft curls earned her praise for effortlessly marrying Old Hollywood glam with Gen Z sensibilities. And now, with Man’s Best Friend just weeks away, the artist is ramping up the visual storytelling.
The Pennsylvania native has been teasing the album one track title at a time on social media, building anticipation for the project’s late summer debut. It’ll arrive one year after her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, which earned her eight Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year.
With momentum from the viral success of singles like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” Carpenter is poised for yet another chart-dominating era—and she’s clearly having fun with it.
