Billie Eilish Shares More About Upcoming Concert Film Co-Directed by Hollywood Legend

Billie Eilish shared a little more about her highly anticipated concert film this week, which will be co-directed by none other than James Cameron, director of Titanic and Avatar (which both remain two of the highest-grossing films of all time). The upcoming film will explore the incredible journey of her latest tour, the Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour. Eilish took to her Instagram on Monday, Nov. 24, to reveal more about how she’s been working alongside the renowned filmmaker to bring her vision to life.
According to her Instagram post, the 2026 title is her love letter to “one of [her] favorite tours ever.” During her time traveling around the world, Eilish performed at 106 shows. She kicked things off in September 2024 with the Videotron Centre show in Quebec City and concluded the tour in November 2025 with the Chase Center show in San Francisco, Calif.
The upcoming concert documentary will aim to encapsulate some of her best moments throughout those incredible performances and will also likely feature some never-before-seen moments captured behind the scenes. While the world will have to wait a little longer to see what exactly the film will encompass, it’s sure to be a beautiful passion project between two fantastic creatives.
Before her official announcement, the 23-year-old sat down with The Wall Street Journal to discuss her partnership with Cameron. “It’s been an insanely amazing, surreal experience working with James Cameron,” Eilish shared. “I’m really excited for all of it, and I’m so excited for the fans to experience this 3D situation that we’re working on. It’s nothing I have ever done, and I haven’t seen anything really like it. I’m just kind of blown away at every step of the process.“
The “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” singer then went on to explain how she took note of how involved the Canadian talent was in the journey, expressing the passion she could see in him the second a camera was placed in his hands, adding, “He never quits. He never yawns. He’s so respectful of what I want. I really admired his work.”
As a successor to Eilish’s 2021 film, Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, and her 2023 film, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles, the 2026 concert tour film will be the third documentary title under her belt.
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR will officially release in theaters on Friday, Mar. 20, in the new year. Stay tuned for more updates.
