Gracie Abrams Shares Sweetest Message for Boyfriend Paul Mescal’s Birthday

Paul Mescal rang in his 30th birthday yesterday, Feb. 2, and received one particular celebratory note that still has the internet swooning. That note, of course, was from his longtime partner, Gracie Abrams.
Abrams’s thoughtful birthday post
The “That’s So True” singer has been linked to the Hamnet star since the summer of 2024, per ELLE, and it appears the duo is still as strong as ever with her latest slew of Instagram snaps. In the carousel—also dedicated to Abrams’s bestie, Clementine—she shared a black and white photobooth strip with Mescal for its inaugural image, where the two locked lips for a sweet smooch.
As the 15-slide carousel continued, with Paul McCartney’s “Calico Skies” in its background, more images of the couple emerged. In its third frame, they lovingly leaned into each other. In its fourth, Mescal wrapped himself over the artist’s legs. In slide seven, they embraced each other in an empty stadium.
“My whole heart!!!!!!!!! I love February 2… Happy birthday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Abrams penned, dedicating the joint post to her beau and her best friend. “I love you both more than words could ever describe. Thank you for making everything better.”

In just one day on the app, Abrams’s post has notched over 1.4 million likes and counting, with fans also filling its comment section by cheering on the duo.
“To be loved like this,” one user commented.
“you two are the royal couple for Sox fans everywhere 🫶🏻,” another commenter wrote, referencing Abrams’s eighth frame of the duo at Boston’s Fenway Park in matching Red Sox baseball caps.
“I love love 🥹😭,” a fan gushed.
Mescal keeps relationship details to a minimum
While Abrams’s celebratory declaration debuted to her 5.7 million followers on the app, Mescal keeps their relationship intentionally close to the chest. “I’m not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life,” he told GQ in October 2024. “How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it’s not public-obligated information.”
And while it has been some time since the original sentiment, he doubled down on it nearly one year later, telling Rolling Stone in September, “Everything to do with that is deeply precious to me [...] I want to protect those things fundamentally.”
