Millie Bobby Brown turned 22 yesterday, Feb. 19, and took to Instagram to share a glimpse into how she celebrated her big day.

The actress—who wrapped up a nearly decade-long tenure on Netflix’s five-season series Stranger Things in December—posted a singular snap to her 72.3 million followers on the app alongside her daughter, whom she shares with husband Jake Bongiovi. The duo tied the knot with a dreamy ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, in Sept. 2024.

“22. grateful for my husband and daughter. for my family and friends. all of my animals. I am so blessed. thank you for the birthday wishes,” Brown penned underneath her post, featuring a coastal frame of the artist next to her daughter, whom she announced that she and her husband adopted in the summer of 2025. She finished off her caption with a simple “xoxo.”

The image did not feature her daughter’s face, and exhibited the duo side by side in the sand at an undisclosed coastal location. They twinned in similar beige ensembles, as Brown sported a jacket featuring a dog design on the back, and her daughter kept warm in a furry brown one-piece adorned with rounded ears on its hood.

“best girls !!! so cuteeee🥹💗✨✨,” one fan gushed underneath the post.

“Your first birthday as a mother 🥺,” another sweetly added.

“Now I'm crying 🥹❤️,” a fellow commenter chimed in.

When it comes to life in the public eye and her motherhood journey, Brown has remained steadfast in shielding her daughter from the spotlight. She delved into the decision in a December interview with British Vogue, telling the publication, “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.”

She continued, “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support,” before later adding, “As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”

However, Brown continues to share the family’s adventures on her own terms, omitting her daughter’s face from frame on social media with emojis and particular camera angles as she continues to embark on her first year of motherhood.
