Olivia Dunne Shares How She and Paul Skenes Approach Long-Distance Relationship

Long-distance relationships are never easy, but for Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes, it remains worth it.
It’s an understatement to simply say the retired NCAA gymnast turned popular content creator—who currently boasts 5.3 million followers on Instagram and 7.9 million on TikTok—and the Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher have incredibly busy lives. While the two have found success in their respective fields, their impressive careers can sometimes keep them apart while they continue to travel the world. Still, during the three years they’ve been together, they’ve appeared to find a way to make it work for their relationship.
Recently, Dunne opened up more about this, sharing how the couple splits their time in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE—and why showing up for each other remains important.
Dunne opens up about spending time with Skenes
With spring training already underway, Dunne and Skenes are preparing for the hecticness of the 2026 baseball season. While chatting with PEOPLE back in February, the content creator exclusively shared a little about how they handle time when they’re apart, revealing they don’t have a particular playbook; instead, they prioritize being “super present” whenever they do have time together.
“Honestly, I don’t think we have any rules. I just think being super present with one another while you’re together, while you have that time together, is super important,” Dunne told the outlet. “I mean, he makes time to come to my events. I make time to go watch him pitch. I try to make every start I can.”
She went on, adding, “We both are so busy that we understand if one another can’t be there for everything, but I think just really valuing the time you spend together and being super present in every moment.”
Dunne spotted at Skenes’s games
And the content creator means it when she says she tries to “make time to go watch [Skenes] pitch,” as Dunne is often spotted cheering from the sidelines during his games, and always in her signature, effortlessly chic style. Most recently, she took to TikTok to share her view from the bleachers, playfully recording the 2025 Cy Young Award winner as he pitched for Team USA during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
In the comments of the short clip, fans rallied around the couple, showing support for their relationship and for Skenes as baseball season gets underway, with one fan even joking, “He’s not your boyfriend, he’s our (the USA) boyfriend for this tournament.”
