Paige Spiranac has shared her golf game on social media for over a decade, along with her own helpful tips for her followers to improve their own. However, today, the former professional golfer delved into how she has tackled the “mental side” of the sport, and admitted that, for her, it has been a work in progress.

“I’ve seen so many sports psychologists, and the mental side of golf just truly ate me alive, and I’ve tried everything,” she told her 4 million Instagram followers today, Feb. 10, as part of a Q&A on her story. The Colorado native issued the sentiment as the first part of her answer, following a query that read, “How do you work on the mental side of the game?”

Then the athlete provided a couple of pieces of advice. “I recommend just finding what works best for you,” she continued, crediting “books” and “sports psychologists” as helpful resources.

Afterwards, Spiranac delved into her own progress. “I would say one thing that really helped me when it came to not conquering the mental side of golf, because I’m nowhere near that, but at least getting to a better spot was kind of healing something deeper,” she added. “I was only ever focused on the sports psychology side of it, but once I started talk therapy and cognitive behavior therapy and really got to the root of the problems that were emerging on the golf course, that really seemed to help me.”

Spiranac has been open about her history with anxiety for years, especially on her social media platforms. In 2019, she released a 16-minute-long YouTube video on the subject, which was positively received by her fans in the comment section.

“The fact that you have anxiety and are still able to be in the public eye and manage it, and also are trying to help others, shows that you're stronger than you think,” one user wrote.

Another chimed in, “As an introverted person ridden with anxiety and a bad habit of overthinking, I felt some of this advice. I know I wouldn’t have been able to share like you did, so definitely thanks. Means a lot to know there are others out there.”

In her latest Q&A, Spiranac also touched on a few of her 2026 goals and habits outside of the sport. Check out her full answers, along with the rest of the questions submitted from fans on her Instagram here.
