Addison Rae has stepped into a dazzling new role—this time as the muse in Sombr’s glitzy “12 to 12” music video. The moody visual—directed by Gus Black and released on July 24—opens with Sombr playing both a late-night host and his own guest on a 1970s-inspired retro talk show.
As the camera pans to the crowd, Rae steps into view, draped in crimson light that sets the tone for the moody, retro-inspired visual. She moves through a solo montage, spinning and swaying beneath the glow, her presence commanding each frame.
The scene shifts to a vibrant dance floor lit from beneath, evoking the iconic energy of Saturday Night Fever. First in a plunging black flowy dress with a cinched waist, then in a sparkling red doll mini, the 24-year-old crosses the illuminated tiles to join Sombr, and together they move in perfect rhythm with the pulsating beat and dreamlike atmosphere.
Sombr’s lyrics exude yearning—“In a room full of people, I look for you”—as Rae mouths the words back, the two moving closer with each frame until the video cuts just before an anticipated kiss. The project blends nostalgia with something distinctly modern, a perfect showcase for both artists’ magnetic presence and undeniable chemistry.
The Louisiana native shared stills from the shoot on Instagram, her silhouette bathed in deep red, writing, “I love to dance and I love this song.. the perfect match. Thank you @sombr for asking me to star in your world. You are so cool and kind. 💎”
“Close enough, WELCOME BACK “Dirty Dancing (1987)”!!!!!” Caitlyn Rae exclaimed in the comments.
Sombr returned the praise under his own post, writing, “my new song 12 to 12 is out now with a music video starring the incredibly talented @addisonraee. love you.”
“This duo is so good 🤩🌟 Congratulations on the release!” The official Recording Academy chimed in.
The 20-year-old artist, whose breakthrough tracks “Back to Friends” and “Undressed” have catapulted him into the indie-pop spotlight, is launching his Late Nights & Young Romance tour this fall. For Rae, the new project is another step in her creative evolution. Fresh off an epic performance at Coachella and the release of her debut album Addison, she continues to prove she can inhabit any world or genre and make it her own.
Their pairing feels natural: Sombr’s moody, immersive soundscape meets Rae’s coveted “It Girl” aura. Together, they create a visual and sonic universe that’s as glamorous as it is intimate.
