After two decades, we’re finally getting a long-awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.

Released in 2006, the movie became a beloved cinema staple for fashion fans, with countless moments preserved in meme culture thanks to its quotable script and nostalgic early-2000s style. The sequel will see all the major players from the first film return, including Meryl Streep in her Oscar-nominated role as Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway as protagonist Andy Sachs. The film is currently slated for release on May 1.

And this week, the aforementioned Hathaway and Streep, along with several other members of the cast, traveled to Mexico for the film’s Mexico City premiere. While there, Hathaway wore two outfits that absolutely channeled the style of her character onscreen.

Hathaway’s designer ensembles

On Monday, March 30, Hathaway posted a video compilation featuring her recent looks on Instagram for her 40.9 million followers. Among the stylish clips was a closer look at two of her outstanding outfits for the occasion—one for the premiere red carpet, and another for a Q&A.

Before heading into the premiere, the actress rocked a black Scaparelli ensemble encrusted with gold hardware for the Q&A. The outfit featured a button-up top with a fringed bottom, allowing her legs to peek through the skirt’s trendy high-low-style hemline. In the center of her waist sat a large golden emblem shaped like an eye, providing plenty of added drama. Hathaway then accessorized the chic look with a classic pair of black pumps and some rectangular sunglasses.

For the premiere itself, the actress wore a mini dress and thigh-high boots, both by designer Stella McCartney. The magenta number was crafted with a high-neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves in a sensational sequined fabric, allowing the piece to literally sparkle beneath the bright lights. Still, our favorite part of the entire ensemble had to be the thigh-high brown leather slouchy boots, which gave us major throwback vibes to those iconic Chanel boots Hathaway donned in the first film.

Fans are obsessed with Hathaway’s stellar style

One quick look at the comment section under Hathaway’s Instagram post proves that we’re not the only ones in love with her Mexico press tour style. Many of the actress’s followers were quick to share their love for the star on the app, as well as their excitement for the upcoming film.

“It’s happening 🥹🥹🥹,” one fan penned.

“Two Legends 🙌🏼❤️‍🔥,” another added.

“Name a better duo?!!!” Stylist Micaela Erlanger proclaimed.

“Can you spell iconic?” The official account for 20th Century Fox concluded.
