Charli XCX is in her designer era, as the Grammy Award-winner delivers casual couture in the form of her very own Converse shoe design. She took to her Instagram to officially debut the exciting collab with multiple pairs of shoes that are easy must-haves for everyone’s closet.

The “girl, so confusing” singer revealed the first look wearing a lacy white matching tank top and bottom. Frills outline the perimeter of both garments, bringing a very dreamy vibe to this particular outfit. To top everything off, she sports her custom-made, messy, whitish-gray Converse high-top shoes, which are riddled with rips and tears throughout to produce a heavily worn look. On the soles of the shoes are the letters that spell out “BRAT”, a nod to her recent iconic studio album.

This pair is perfect for those who hate when their footwear appears a little too “clean” and would rather have them have that punk rock party girl look.

As for her second look and creation, Charli XCX dons a thinly veiled white T-shirt dress. She nails this laid-back vibe by pairing this look with faded black high-top Converse shoes with the words “PARTY GIRL” on the soles. Just as she spells out, this shoe is ideal for those partygoers who want something reliable to wear on nights when the least of their worries is their feet hurting after a long night of fist-pumping and hair-shaking.

Alongside this white and black pair, the English singer has several other options available, including colors like brown rice, gray lilac and blue flower. Each pair has a lock and key ornament on the heel tab of the shoe to give it that extra flair—a remnant of her unconventional yet revolutionary vibe.

Customers can mix and match different designs to produce their own Charli XCX shoe that’s unique to them. Words on the body, license and soles of the shoe can be swapped in the virtual factory on the website. The same applies to the color of the insoles.

What inspired Charli XCX to say “yes” to a collab with one of the most prolific shoe brands on the planet? She tells NYLON that there was no better way to appreciate the shoes that have always had her back.

“I’ve always worn Converse,” the 32-year-old expressed. “I have an old pair of Converse that I got, God, I don’t even know, 10 years ago that have holes in them, and I love wearing them. It’s a classic, timeless shoe, and it’s always been a part of my wardrobe, even though I like to wear some more out-there stuff. I love pairing it with a classic item, whether that is a classic leather jacket or something that is a staple piece that doesn’t follow any type of trend cycle.”

She adds, “It’s always reliable and always there. I have a few items like that in my wardrobe that I work into my outfits, and I wanted to have my own shoe. I wanted to make it more about me. Obviously.”

Charli XCX had the origins of the BRAT aesthetic in mind when thinking of what she wanted these Converse designs to achieve. In a way, these shoes memorialize the legacy BRAT has left behind in pop culture.

“It’s a continuation of the language of BRAT. The whole beginning of the campaign was following the Brat ethos: having a private Instagram, leaving hints, not putting something totally in your face,” she stated.

“With the design of the shoe, it’s such a bold, monochromatic, and in-your-face design, but the fact that it is on the sole, it’s this hidden little thing. I like that the logo is being walked through the dark; that feels very inherently Brat. There’s an element of destruction to the placement, which I really like. It feels like the ethos of the campaign to put the logo there.”

Charli XCX x Converse officially drops on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The collab only lasts for three days, so be there or be square!
