Charli XCX Puts Western Twist on Edgy Matching Two-Piece Set for Grammy Awards

On Sunday, Feb. 1, Charli XCX hit the stage at the annual Grammy Awards as one of the night's star-studded presenters. The 33-year-old British singer-songwriter presented Lola Young with the award for “Best Solo Pop Performance” for the artist's 2024 single, “Messy.” After the weekend festivities came to a close, Charli headed to Instagram on Monday to give her 9 million followers a closer look at her monochromatic ensemble.
“xx” the artist posted to the app, coupled with two frames in her all-leather look. Her stylist, Chris Horan, headed to Instagram that same day to share some frames of the ‘fit himself, and credited Chrome Hearts, Tiffany & Co., and Christian Louboutin as the labels responsible for the evening’s look.
Posed in front of a table in the cover slide of her carousel, Charli modeled a cropped leather vest adorned with silver hardware. She paired the garment with a sleek maxi skirt in the same fabric and a pair of closed-toed pumps. Additionally, Charli accessorized with an oversized belt, a handful of rings and a stack of statement necklaces.
“Jaw is on the floor 💚,” one commenter declared.
“I'm obsessed,” a fan chimed in.
Another agreed, and penned, “THE MOMENT literally.” The note seemingly referred to Charli’s on-screen stint, The Moment, with A24. The film, which also features familiar faces like Kylie Jenner and Rachel Sennott, released on Jan. 30.
When it comes to branching out into the film industry—which, per Billboard, will include future films Faces of Death and A Tree Is Blue—Charli previously opened up to the Los Angeles Times about how movies played a major role in her music career.
“I’ve always been really, really inspired by cinema when making my music—more so than music, to be honest,” the artist told the publication. “I’m really not actually a big music listener [...] I have my go-to things that I like to listen to, but generally speaking, I’m always sort of watching films to inspire my music, my writing, anything.”
As for new music from Charli—with the exception of the Wuthering Heights soundtrack album, which debuts on Feb. 13—there may be a pause in the artist's production. In a feature with Elle, she admitted that she is “not in a music headspace” before elaborating that her “brain isn’t thinking about music” for the time being.
