Jenna Ortega is on her way to becoming a fashion icon. Her most recent red carpet outfit is getting her closer and closer to that title, as it’s a look that had our jaws on the floor.

On the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday night, Ortega easily received some of the most buzz of the night for her barely-there look. The Wednesday star sported a Givenchy top comprising only jewels and nothing more.

She paired this top with a floor-length black skirt with a dramatic high slit going up one leg. Her shoes keep the dark tones going by being black open-toed heels. As for her hair and makeup, her black tresses are packed into a messy and wavy low bun, while her makeup is just as gothic chic as ever, with her bleached eyebrows, bright eyeshadow and, of course, a nice dark red lip.

Death Becomes Her fans are living for this look, and rightfully so.

The sophisticated look is inspired by a top worn by Lisle von Rhuman (played by Isabella Rossellini) in the 1992 film. While in different styles and shapes, both succeed in that nearly-naked look, the trend that’s all over red carpets this summer.

Embracing one of the biggest fashion trends

Ortega is yet another to participate in this style of clothing. Celebrities like Margot Robbie, who wore a jeweled see-through dress with an exposed open back at the UK premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, and Dakota Johnson, in her gorgeous black lace dress at a Kering Foundation event, are also embracing the look.

Ortega didn’t just attend the Emmy Awards to serve looks. The actress also presented at the ceremony alongside her Wednesday co-star, Catherine Zeta-Jones, for the Supporting Actress In A Drama Series category. On stage, the jewels on Ortega’s top shone even more under the limelight, making her ensemble just as stunning off the red carpet as it was on it.

Hands down, this is our favorite look from the Emmys last night. Whatever fashion statement Ortega makes next is sure to have people talking.
