Maura Higgins Finally Receives Promised Gift From Rob Rausch After ‘Traitors’ Betrayal

For the ‘Love Island’ star, the price of forgiveness is one burgundy Birkin bag.

Would you ever forgive someone’s betrayal in exchange for an iconic designer item? For Maura Higgins, the answer to that question is a resounding “yes.”

In case you missed it, the Season 4 finale of Traitors aired back on Feb. 26, with Love Island USA’s Rob Rausch crowned the competition’s winner, taking home the $220,800 prize, as reported by PEOPLE. Still, Rausch’s road to victory was not without its metaphorical casualties, as he tricked the aforementioned Higgins into trusting him throughout the season before betraying her during the finale, revealing that he was, in fact, a titular traitor.

Higgins’s genuine, earnest, shocked reaction quickly went viral online, as she was clearly not expecting the turn of events. While she appeared hurt, she eventually told Rausch, “I mean, fair play though. You know what, if I was a Traitor, I would have done the same. No hard feelings.”

Then, during the reunion episode—which was available to stream on Peacock after the finale—Rausch wanted to make amends with his ally. He told host Andy Cohen that he planned to buy Higgins a very special gift with part of his winnings to apologize for lying to her the entire season: a Birkin bag. And this week, he finally made good on that designer deal.

Higgins gets her Hermès

Fans first heard reports that Rausch was in the process of purchasing Higgins her promised Birkin earlier this week, when Entertainment Weekly chatted with the Love Island star about the ordeal. After asking her if any “arrangements” had been made, Higgins told the outlet, “Well, so basically, you can’t just walk into Hermés and buy a Birkin. So Lisa Rinna, the queen herself, is helping Rob get the Birkin because Lisa has contacts. So I told him, ‘Speak to Lisa.’ I've sent him a picture of the exact bag I want. So now it’s in his hands.”

And yesterday, March 4, both Higgins and Rausch appeared on Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen, where the exchange officially happened. During the “Work the Polls” segment, Cohen asked the audience if they’d forgive someone for a Birkin, with 91% of the audience saying “yes.” Rausch then presented Higgins with her gift, unboxing the luxe burgundy bag with white gloves. For further context, E! News estimated the cost of this specific bag at $16,000.

Higgins was clearly delighted, hugging Rausch and proclaiming, “All is forgiven!” The two also sent their gratitude to Rinna, who Rausch said “majorly” helped with securing the item from the designer.

And of course, fans of the show were happy to see the pair make amends, taking to the comment section to applaud the moment.
