Who said you can’t elevate holiday style into a high-fashion, business-ready outfit? Love Island USA star Olandria Carthen exemplified how that statement is far from the truth this week, as she stunned in a gorgeous plaid ensemble that merged holiday-ready and corpcore couture.

Carthen’s most recent attire consisted of a red and white plaid trench coat that extended to the floor. The length made the piece an absolutely regal one; however, the trench coat was only one of the many regal touches, as was her long-sleeve plaid mini dress. Paired together, these garments created a single-print duo that was utterly fire.

The reality TV personality completed the look with a white square handbag and a pair of white pointed pump heels. From top to bottom, she executed the holiday-themed corpcore aesthetic well, speaking to her incredible sense of style.

Stylish and witty with her Instagram captions. Is there anything Carthen can’t do? The answer appears to be a resounding “no,” especially since, on top of everything else, the internet’s ultimate it-girl is now also a Harvard girl.

Earlier this week, ‘Bama Woods—a nickname Carthen gave herself on her Instagram stories, referencing the iconic lead character in Legally Blonde—spoke to Harvard Business School students during her session titled “Forging Her Own Path: A Conversation with Olandria Carthen”. There, she shared her wisdom with the younger generation, including how to navigate higher education while being self-assured as a minority.

“When you walk into a room, and you’re a minority, don’t let that be a reason to shrink yourself, or to make you feel small,” Carthen expressed in a TikTok recording of her session. “Use that as a reason to shine bright.”

And her knowledge comes directly from her experience, as Carthen knows the college experience very well. A Tuskegee University graduate, she understands how much work goes into completing a degree when there’s no blueprint to follow. She was the first in her family to complete college, a feat that reflects her resilience and commitment to shining bright through it all.

“Today I graduated from The Illustrious Tuskegee University, receiving my Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management,” Carthen wrote on Instagram upon becoming a Tuskegee University graduate back in May 2022. “Being the first in my family to graduate from high school & now college has given me a feeling that I cannot put into words.”

Harvard Business School awarded Carthen with the WIB (Women in Business) Power & Purpose Award to honor how brilliantly she’s built her successful empire thus far. “Trust in your brilliance. Challenge the boundaries placed in front of,” she stated during her acceptance speech. “Know that you belong in every room you aspire to enter.”
