NCAA athlete and 2023 SI Swimsuit model Angel Reese was just named as the newest brand ambassador of textured hair-care brand Mielle Organics. The 21-year-old LSU basketball star, who led the LSU Tigers to their first-ever women’s basketball championship earlier this year, has been on a roll over the past few months.

Reese was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four tournament and has signed name, image and likeness (NIL) deals with brands including Bose, Outback Steakhouse and Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge. Her total NIL valuation is estimated at $1.4 million, according to On3.

As part of her new role with Mielle Organics, Reese will promote the brand’s products online—to her 4.3 million followers across Instagram, TikTok and Twitter—as well as at in-person events. The Bayou Barbie also will create a curated limited-edition pack of her favorite Mielle items later this year, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

“We selected Angel as a brand ambassador because our goal is to bridge the gap between sports and the beauty space,” Mielle founder and CEO Monique Rodriguez said in a statement. “The confidence, boldness and resilience she embodies on and off the court are some of the qualities we look for when we choose brand ambassadors—she’s inspirational.”

Reese, who was photographed by Yu Tsai in Los Angeles earlier this year, told WWD that she has been using Mielle products on and off the court for years. She noted that she’s “proud” to represent a brand committed to “uplifting women, giving back and changing norms.”
