YouTube sensation Ellie Thumann is hot off the heels of her super exciting 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie announcement. She’s received an outpouring of love and heartfelt messages from her 2 million YouTube subscribers, as well as her 1.6 million Instagram followers.
She shared a sweet note of thanks on her IG story.
“Thank you to each & every one of you for the support today,” the 21-year-old wrote on Monday. “I am beyond overwhelmed & can’t respond to everyone right now but it means more than you’ll ever know!! Gonna be off my phone for a bit to soak it all in but thank you endlessly <3.”
Thumann celebrated the achievement with a bottle of champagne, her loved ones and a trip to Oahu.
“❤️🍾,” she captioned a stunning set of IG photos of herself on a lush golf course. The Arizona native wore a patterned figure-hugging strapless dress and accessorized with gold dangly earrings and a pearl necklace. The last pic in the carousel post featured frosted cookies, which read “Rookie Cookies 2023” and “so proud,” made by her friend and fellow YouTuber, Hannah Meloche.
“You are the cutest human ever!!!!” 2022 co-Rookie of the Year Christen Harper gushed. “So excited for you 🤍.”
Thumann also shared a fun TikTok video of the “surreal” moment with her 769,000 followers. She wrote, “celebrating the biggest day of my career on the walking trails that started it all.”
Thumann was photographed in Puerto Rico by Derek Kettela. It wasn’t until the end of the photo shoot that she felt really proud and emotional about joining the SI Swimsuit family as a rookie.
“That’s when it really hit me,” she said. “It’s surreal, and I don’t think I’ll ever fully process it. [I’m] just trying to take it all in knowing it’s such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Really trying to keep myself grounded and looking at everything that’s happened to get me here. It’s just incredible.”
