Brooks Nader, one of four 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover girls, has earned her moment in the spotlight. The model, who has been featured in the magazine five years in a row after winning the Swim Search open casting call in 2019, was photographed by James Macari in the Dominican Republic earlier this year.
“Congratulations, Brooks, on your cover because you have come from our Swim Search world, and you have stuck with us and you have hustled and you have worked so hard. You have represented this brand with every ounce of your soul,” SI Swimsuit editor in chief MJ Day applauded in a recent speech. ”These women take a lot of the world’s weight on their shoulders when they choose to do this and when they end up on the cover. They’re not only beautiful and brilliant, but they’re also very brave.”
The Baton Rouge native was featured on the front of the 2023 issue along with three additional cover stars, including actress Megan Fox, entrepreneur Martha Stewart and singer Kim Petras.
“No, this is not actually happening, I don’t believe it,” the model said when the SI Swimsuit team surprised her with the news of her cover. “I was honored enough to be in the magazine, so I never thought that I would actually be on the cover. I don’t really even know what to say.”
