Dodgers fans may not catch a glimpse of its standout designated hitter Shohei Ohtani’s wife, Mamiko Tanaka, often, but when they do, one thing is for sure: she is going to be repping the three-time MVP( who has a potential fourth award in his view) with pride.

Following the MLB franchise’s second consecutive World Series victory—the Dodgers secured the 2024 title in five games against the New York Yankees— they repeated the feat on Nov. 2, besting the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in a nail-biting Game 7 matchup.

Tanaka was spotted at both major milestones for her beau. The same year that Ohtani disclosed the news of their nuptials via Instagram in 2024, Tanaka graced the sidelines for a handful of monumental moments for her husband, including his inaugural division championship in late September. She also debuted a white and blue ensemble with Ohtani’s last name on her arm to Game 3 of the World Series that year.

More recently, the former professional basketball player made headlines again, when she was appeared in an Instagram post from Chelsea Freeman, wife of Dodgers first baseman, Freddie Freeman. The Nov. 1 carousel featured Freeman, Brianna Betts and Tanaka in its cover slide, coupled with another frame of a larger group of team WAGs.

Then, when the franchise celebrated its ninth World Series victory with a parade across the City of Angels, Tanaka was in attendance, linking arms with her husband. SI reported some of their cutest moments together just yesterday, Nov. 4, including when she snapped a pic of her husband as he looked out onto a slew of fans. And, in separate X post linked to the article, she had to reach up extra high to get the right angle for a couple of shots, though her unwavering effort was evident.

And really, her latest stint is a reflection of her steadfast loyalty surrounding Ohtani’s career throughout their relationship. On his wife, “I don’t really feel comfortable talking about when I got married exactly, but she’s a normal Japanese woman,” Ohtani told ESPN, per Parade. Even so, in anonymity, her support is unwavering. “She has a great understanding of my profession, and she’s willing to be wherever I wanted to play,” Ohtani added of his spouse.

Ohtani’s sentiment also parallels an anecdote on the duo’s authenticity. In a 2024 conversation with Numberweb, he revealed that “he likes that he isn’t that different when he’s with her compared to when he’s alone,” Dodgers Nation posted to X.
