Olivia Dunne Playfully Pokes Fun at This Aspect of Her Relationship With Paul Skenes

The former collegiate gymnast debuted a humorous TikTok on their dynamic on Sunday, Dec. 14.

While Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes both have soaring careers in the spotlight that have followed their athletic tenures at LSU, the duo doesn’t shy away from their dissimilarities, either.

Some of those differences are in their respective fields. While Skenes is an All-Star pitcher on the Pittsburgh Pirates, Dunne has transitioned from her collegiate gymnastics career to a full-time social media and modeling endeavor. One additional contrast between the pairing is their respective heights. Per Dunne’s LSU bio, she is 5'6", and according to Skenes’s MLB bio, the fellow 23-year-old stands at a whopping 6’6".

Yet, Dunne embraces the major height difference, and took to TikTok to joke about it over the weekend. On Sunday, Dec. 14, she posted a brief video consisting of two clips from their adventures at Disney World. The first clip showed the model—wearing an oversized sweater, jean shorts, black sunnies and Minnie Mouse ears—looking up at the camera while on a stroll. The clip’s background mimicked her fast-paced stride.

Then, at a low angle, the camera panned up to Skenes, whose pace was slowed down with a dramatic stomping sound that played as his Nike sneakers hit the concrete. Like Dunne, he donned another casual outfit and paired a gray tee with multicolored athletic shorts.

“us walking together anywhere in public,” read the video’s on-screen text, as Dunne jokingly penned “my lil guy,” as its caption. In under 24 hours on the app, the video has already garnered over 41,000 likes and more than 160 comments.

Earlier this fall, Dunne called out the 2025 National League Cy Young Award winner’s commanding stature. On a trip to Europe in October, she shared the reality of Skenes’s height overseas to Instagram, as the pitcher ducked to get through entryways, squatted next to a door that reached just above his shoulders and hit his head while walking through the hallways of an unrevealed location.

While Dunne disclosed that she and Skenes are “very opposite” in an interview with People last year, the athlete also said the dynamic “really works.” She continued, “I think that we play off of one another and make each other better.”
