Yumi Nu made SI Swimsuit Issue history in 2022, as the first plus-sized Asian model to land on the magazine’s cover. She did so just one year after her debut in 2021, and the model will return to the publication this May after being photographed in Dominica.

The 26-year-old also had another barrier-breaking moment last year as the first plus-size model to be featured on the cover of Vogue Japan—which was a major milestone for Nu, who is of Japanese and Dutch descent.

“Secrets out 👏,” the official SI Swimsuit Instagram account wrote on April 11. “Our SI Swimsuit 2022 cover star @_yumi_nu is back for the 2023 issue and we can’t wait to show you more from her shoot in Dominica!”

Nu donned a green two-piece set from Meshki featuring metallic triangle wiring in the middle. She posed with her eyes closed and arms out in the first pic. In the following snap, she sat on the edge of a docked boat and leaned against a standing log, showing off her smolder to the camera. She sported a stringy bright pink bikini from Black Bough Swim.

“I CANT WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO SEEEEEE 😭😍,” the Los Angeles-based model replied under the post.

“The ultimate bombshell❤️,” commented Leyna Bloom

“Look at all the happiness radiating from her! 💜💜,” one fan wrote.

“Sweet to sultry,” another added. “Slaying🔥🔥.”

As a model, entrepreneur and artist, Nu is a total triple threat. The Blueki founder launched her clothing brand in 2020 with the goal of creating sustainable and fashionable plus size clothing. The singer also released her debut EP, Hajime, last year and her most recent single, “Former Life,” dropped last month.
