While Alix Earle’s social media stardom has continued to surge, the 24-year-old content creator has consistently kept her skincare journey as transparent as possible. From her 2023 TikTok series All Things Acne to disclosing her “experience with Accutane” that same year, the New Jersey native has showcased how her skin has fluctuated throughout her tenure in the public eye. On Thursday, she posted an update for her 5.2 million Instagram followers.

“If you know me, if you followed along my journey at all, it’s shocking that I wore makeup every single day for three months and was dancing and sweating in it, and my skin has been staying, like, at ease,” Earle declared in the reel, referring to her time on the ABC show Dancing With the Stars. Alongside her professional partner Val Chmerkovskiy, she placed second in the competition behind conservationist Robert Irwin and his professional partner Whitney Carson.

“I haven’t really been dealing with acne, but more so, like, the texture of my skin,” she continued, referring to an “irritated” skin barrier. “This happened to me, like, this time last year. I don’t know if it's ‘cause I used something I’m allergic to on my skin, but I think it’s more so, like, just the constant irritation and taking off the makeup, sweating in it, putting stuff back on.”

In the reel, Earle took off her makeup and walked her followers through the steps of her nightly skincare regimen, crediting a “cleansing bomb,” numerous serums and a lip mask as some of her go-to products. “Keeping things more simple has been better for me,” the SipMARGS investor added, “While still using really good ingredients that are gonna be keeping my acne-prone skin intact.”

Earle also recognizes the impact that her skincare content has on her fanbase. While it differs from the glitz and glam of red carpet events or, more recently, her elaborate on-stage costumes in the ballroom, she finds that what used to be “the scariest thing ever”—which Earle admitted to the New York Post’s Alexa, in her latest cover interview—is now mutually rewarding for herself and her fanbase.

“It’s probably the most common thing girls say when they come up to me, like, ‘You’ve really helped me feel confident in my skin,’ or ‘You’ve helped my daughter,’’ Earle explained to the publication for its front-page feature, released on Dec. 3. “That always brings tears to my eyes. It means the absolute most to me.”
